Compared to the neatly decorated room he had been situated in temporarily to recuperate, the area outside was considerately lacking. The hall, already spacious as it is, felt barren given the lack of design or decorations. The only thing that littered its walls were doors leading to different rooms with a few plants situated beside them.
As someone who preferred the simplicity in things, he could somewhat appreciate the person in charge of the place's decorations but even then, he had to admit how empty the area was.
He continued to look around, his face showing his obvious curiosity about the place they were in. Paimon seemed to take note of this as she happily took up her self-proclaimed navigator role once more.
"This is the Knights of Favonious's headquarters!" Paimon exclaimed far too happily, not too bothered with her volume. "The room you were in earlier is actually a solitary confinement room for one of the members but given how she hasn't gotten into trouble lately, it's been freed up for other uses. Grandmaster Jean was kind enough to let us use it after finding you in the forest," she explained, proud of her knowledge about the place.
As much as he appreciated Paimon's eagerness to explain things to her, she was lacking one thing; the consideration of him not understanding what she was talking about. If it were anyone else, they might've been confused with the many terms used without any explanations.
Thankfully, [Name] had learned how to read behind the lines and investigate the true meaning behind people's words. Given their name, he's assuming that the Knights of Favonious was some organization in Mondstadt, the main one in this city too given how they have their headquarters.
With the title in front of the name, he was also assuming that this 'Grandmaster Jean' was the head in charge of the so-called knights. Given her generosity in allowing him to stay in one of the rooms to heal, he'd have to give her his gratitude soon.
It seems like the little fairy beside him thought the same as she suddenly perked up. "We should go say our thanks later when she's no longer busy." She hummed the sentence as an afterthought rather than a suggested idea.
[Name] simply nodded at that and before long, they were outside and walking down plentiful flights of stairs. While he had no issues with the extra exercise, he needed it after being bedridden for so long, he could somewhat assume how much of a hindrance it is for other people.
After a few more steps, they eventually reached the main attraction of the city. There stood a glistening water fountain in the middle area as a pathway stretched out in front of them, shops aligning out either side of the said path. It was like a bazaar if he had to choose a word to describe it.
Now that he was given a better outlook on the city life here, he couldn't help but notice how old and historical the place was. Not like it was a bad thing, of course. He kind of liked it, the lack of electronics or modern technology. It gave him a clearer view of how people still managed to enjoy themselves in the company of others, rather than on a screen.
Kids ran amok the area happily, playing with their friends and the neatly designed kites they held in their hands. They were filled with pure, unadulterated joy. The sight made him feel light.
Despite that, he couldn't help but worry about one thing. He knows all worlds are different, that none of them will be the same as anything else given how unique the inhabitants and their customs are, but what if there was something more to this?
"[Name]?" Paimon called out as she and Aether gave him confused looks, wondering why he suddenly stopped mid-walk to a seating area. [Name] blinked out of his thoughts as he continued to follow after them.
They situated themselves in the simple chairs and tables in front of the shop named Good Hunter. He had to admit that whatever it was the cook was making, it was good. He hadn't even realized he was famished until he was finally in the presence of food.
