As the sun cast its golden rays across the horizon, it seemed to carry with it a renewed promise, a chance for reconciliation . Its gentle warmth whispered of forgiveness ,sparking a shine of optimism in their hearts, beckoning them to embrace the opportunity to mend their bond once again.
The two of them were ready to take off for work. Loading the necessities the sat down in the expensive shining mercedes.
Jungkook, sat down to drive, what an irony the one owning the car was right now a driver but did he care .. NoHe observed the blonde's struggle with the seat belt, a sigh escaping his lips, which caught Tae's attention. Leaning in, he reached over to fasten the belt, the proximity enough to make his heart swirl, yet Tae sensed Jungkook's effort to keep a certain distance. A weight settled in Tae's chest as he knew that he bore responsibility for the drift between them.
Whispering a soft Thank you and an awkward welcome among each other the journey took off.
Busan was only a three-hour trip, yet the tension between them stretched it into what felt like endless months. The ravanette stole glances at the blonde periodically. Unable to sense the weight of Jungkook's gaze, the blonde opted to close his eyes, seeking solace in a moment of rest between this awkwardness.
A deafening roar of thunder echoed through the air, accompanied by the patter of raindrops on the car's roof. Within moments, the downpour intensified. Jungkook strained to see through the downpour , the wipers struggling to clear his line of sight. With uncertainty of what is ahead, Jungkook brought the car to an abrupt halt, the screech of tires blending with the thunder's rumble, jolting Tae from his peaceful slumber.
"Why what happened" Tae called out.
"Umm actually it's raining pretty hard. I don't think so I'll be able to drive." The ravanette spoke taking out his phone to inform Namjoon about the scenario.
The cool breeze from the air conditioner, coupled with the sound of rain and the sealed windows, enveloped the car in silence. Aside from the patter of raindrops and their own steady breaths, there was nothing else to be heard within the car.
Tae was the first one to break the tension.
"What are we going to do?"
"Umm can you wait here?.. I'll look out for something and come back." The other replied
"No no please don't leave me alone. I'll come along." The other immediately replied not wanting to be left alone.
"Ok then hold my hand and don't leave it by any chance. I know you don't want to but just until we find shelter." A taunt lacing at the end.Tae nodded feeling embarrassed by the sudden remark.
Jungkook stepped out of the car and hurriedly grabbed the umbrella, rushing to the other side to assist the blonde getting out.
Tae cautiously traced the car door, wary of hitting his head. Once out, Jungkook swiftly pulled him under the umbrella's protection. Though both yearned for closeness, they silently agreed to set it aside for now.Jungkook gently held onto Tae's shoulders, ensuring they both fit comfortably under the umbrella.
He carefully guided the blind boy, preventing any accidental bumps.
The raven-haired boy observed their surroundings, realizing they were far from the main city area. Busan appeared more secluded, with dense forests and very little population, not a single human in sight amid the heavy rain. Scanning the area, he spotted a small, three-story building that seemed old and abandoned. Reading the banner, it revealed the name Sunrise HotelHe guided Tae towards the hotel. It was an old shabby place, like an old ruin. The white paints of the wall had peeled off showing the red brick beneath it.
Entering inside he left the blonde's shoulders and closed the umbrella.
Tae sensing no drops of rain on his head asked
"Have we reached somewhere?" He asked
"Umm yes, i guess it's an old hotel" the latter replied gazing here and there. Inside of this hotel felt totally opposite to its look from outside. It felt warm and safe. He saw some old men sitting by the fire furnace laughing and dancing off to the live band among them.
The grannies were all seated by the TV watching daily soap opera.
The middle age mens along with their family accompanying the commotion.
Jungkook had never seen such a happy site since a long time. After his accident he secluded himself from his family and probably missed out there days which right now is reflecting in front of his eyes.
Sometimes he used to feel as if whatever he is doing is it actually required??
I mean is it not just a scar, but the years of being alone never actually gave him the confidence to confront himself. He felt a tug on his hand, looked up to see tae frowning
"I hear a lot of noises where are we?"
"Umm there are many people here tae- umm Mr Kim. Let's go and find rooms for ourselves "
The ravanette took out his mask wearing it and stepped towards the so called reception desk.
"Umm excuse me. I am Park Bogum, the manager of this hotel. How man I help you."
"Umm actually it's raining outside and we lost our track can we stay here for a while until the rain stops." Jungkook spoke.
"Umm I am sorry sir but we don't service for a hour or so. Rooms can be booked according to a day or so. We can let you stay at our seating area but here for the rooms the payments are according to the number of days you stay."
Jungkook sighed
"Okay for one day. Two rooms." He said
"Sorry sir" Bogum said
"Now what?" came a frustrating reply from the ravanette
"We have only one room available" he bowed.
Tae gasped at the comment. It's not that he can't share room with the other but it's just that he knew things might go awkward.
Jungkook heard the gasp, he clenched his fist thinking tae doesn't want to share the room.
"Okay give me whatever you have. And if possible some dried clothes" Jungkook said
Paying the amt and collecting the room key he marched towards the blonde.
He took their things and guided them towards the room.
Once they reached the room, he opened the door and gave the keys to the blonde.
"Here is the room, be careful as you don't know the place. I'll be in the lobby. By tomorrow we'll leave and I have asked the manager for some clothes kindly change it." Came a cold voice with heals turning around to leave.
"Waitt why are you going to the lobby." Tae asked
"Can't you hear what the manager said that only one room is available?"
"So we can share this room." Tae suggested."Ya I know how much you want to share this room... Look Mr Kim you don't have to do things that make you uncomfortable. I had forced you to come with me so it's my responsibility to keep you safe. I am a grown man to take care of my self so if you are worrying you actually don't need to." Jungkook said
"Who said I am uncomfortable. Don't assume everything on your own. I never said i am uncomfortable. And it was my decision to come here so don't impose all of this on your own." Tae stated
"Never?" Jungkook asked. Tae looked down knowing to which day Jungkook was referring to.
"Any way your gasp at the reception was enough for me to understand your level of comfort.""Mr Jeon I feel we should take this inside, rather than shouting at the hall way and telling everyone about it. And no i am not uncomfortable so please get in." He requested
Both went inside the room. Jungkook immediately sat by the window seeing the rain drops and tae felt a small sofa by his side. He sat on it not wanting to wet the bed.
Both were silent until Jungkook spoke.
"What did I ever do which made you feel that my friendship for you was just because I sympathised you?"
