prologue

" Sumi, get away from the window, it's getting late," The five year old girl heard her older brother Genya.

She nodded and helped her siblings prepare their sleeping futon.

The six siblings rest on their futons, anxiously waiting for their mother, who was returning home at an unusual time.

" Nii-chan, Mom is coming home unusually late," Genya said, Sumi heard her two brothers talking and turn to their side.

" I'll look for her, stay here, Genya," The eldest of the siblings , Sanemi said.

" Nii-chan," Sumi tried to call out for her eldest brother.

Sanemi turn to his little sister, " I'll be back, stay with our other siblings alright?," Pecking her forehead. Nodding her head.

She heard the ruffle of bedsheets after Nemi left and saw her other siblings awake. She too rose from her futon and smiled at their second oldest.

" You guys were awake to begin with," Genya chuckled.

Sumi opened the window in search of their older brother and their mother, " Nii-chan, Nemi is taking quite long," Sumi said worriedly.

" Don't worry, Nemi will be back with mom," Genya reassured his little sister.

They then heard a loud tud on the entrance of their home.

" It's mom!,"

" Mom's back!,"

The other siblings rush to the door with glee to welcome their mother.

" Wait! come back it might not be mom!," Genya tried to warn his other siblings.

Then a beast crash into their home, injuring his siblings fatally, Genya hid Sumi in his arms avoiding her from the attacks, marking his face on the process.

' What is that?, a beast?, a bear?, I can't see anything it was too dark!,' Genya thought as the demon was about to attack the remaining two siblings.

Sanemi then arrived and grabbed hold of their demon mother.

" Genya go now!," Sanemi flung out of the window.

Genya then glance to his other siblings who were now cold, then he felt blood on his clothing, he glance at Sumi. She too was wounded.

But her body was still warm, she might have a chance of survival.

" Sumi!, can you hear me?!, don't worry Nii-chan will save you!," Genya desperately said.

Sumi was laid on the bloody floor while Genya chased out to search for his older brother.

" Nii,"

Genya saw Sanemi with bloody knives and the demon who was their mother on the floor turning to ash.

Wailing in despair, cursing his own brother for killing their mother.

" You murderer!," It was at that time Sanemi had realized what he had done.

He saved his brother but at the cost of killing his demon mother.

Sumi regained conscious but she felt different.

' what happened?!, where is nii-chan!?, Nemi!,' She thought as she rose.

  " Sumi!," She heard her second older brother's voice.

Genya arrived back at their home and saw his younger sister, who was now a demon.

" Nii-chan!," Sumi tried to ran to him but Genya pulled a knife threatening towards her.

" Get back!, You're not Sumi anymore!," He yelled.

" Nii-chan, please it's still me, even though I changed it's still me!, please believe me!," Genya was in disbelief.

' did ma turn her when she attack, no Sumi must have been wounded, but she still smells like the same sumi,' Genya thought.

Genya then thought of something and that was to muzzle his own sister.

" I'm sorry Sumi, but you have to be guarded," Genya said and tied a bamboo muzzle arround his sister's mouth to avoid her from bitting anyone.

Genya glance at his little sister, ' she still looks cute even as a demon,' He thought.

" Sumi, I guess it's just the two of us from now own, our big brother Nemi seem to walk on his own," Genya said sadly.

Sumi hum in confusion, furrowing her eyebrows.

" I know it will be lonely without Nemi, but we have each other," Genya said and hug his last living sibling.
