I sit in the chair with my sweaty palms resting on my thighs and my hair pulled into a ponytail. I'm dressed in a pantsuit that makes me feel so hot when I'm already so nervous.
The jury is here and my lawyer is beside me. I would never have imagined myself in this scenario and I don't know what's going to happen.
"Jennie Ruby Jane Kim, you are on trial for murder. Is that correct?"
I stand with my heart beating fast in my chest. "Yes, Your Honor."
"And your lawyer...is...umm..." the judge hesitates to pronounce the name.
Beside me, she stands up. "Kim Jisoo, Your Honor."
The judge nods. "Good. Thank you Ms.Kim. Both of you please be seated now." He hits the gavel.
"This court is now in session."
