"Dad?" I called. We were at the dining table, and I was pouring water from the dispenser.
"Hmm?" He responded.
"Don't do that again."
He looked up at me, tearing his eyes away from the book that he was reading. "Ang alin?"
"Alam mo kung ano ang sinasabi ko, Dad." I took a sip. "We're just friends. He just so happens to be at the mall and we ran to each other."
He pursed his lips. Then he nodded. That means this conversation is over.
I went upstairs and while I was entering my room, I received a notification.
ferrera08
You got home safely?
arviste
Of course, I went home with my dad.
Speaking of dad, I'm sorry for what happened earlier.
ferrera08
What?
arviste
When he made you run 3 laps.
ferrera08
Oh, it's alright. Probably just part of the practice.
arviste
No.
He thinks that there is
Uh
ferrera08
Thinks what?
arviste
He thinks that there is something between us
ferrera08
Oh.
He has been typing a response for about a minute now. He probably doesn't know what to say.
ferrera08
I don't have any intentions like that.
Oh.
Now it was my turn to not know what to say. So he was just being nice. He was just trying to be friends. All that he was doing recently, it was because he was trying to be a good friend.
arviste
That's good.
That is definitely not good, but I won't tell him that. I told him good night even though it's still a bit early for me to sleep, and he also replied good night.
I haven't... experienced this before. Liking someone despite only knowing one another for a small amount of time.
And someone not liking me... Really? Hindi ako ang pinaka-maganda, but I also know na hindi na lugi ang mga tao sa akin.
Ah. Maybe this is just my deflated ego talking.
After the training session, Mae asked me. "Lotus kami, Arrie. Sama ka?"
I looked at her, then threw Ven who was behind her a very quick glance. "I'll pass." I have to sleep early because I have a busy school day tomorrow–actually hindi lang tomorrow. For the whole month of March yata because of final performance tasks, work immersion portfolio na akala mo ay libro sa dami ng pages, retreat, graduation ball, graduation practice, and finally graduation na talaga.
"Sure ka? Hatid na lang kita pauwi." I thought about Mae's offer.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Tomorrow na lang, maybe?"
She nodded. "Sige, go lang."
I grabbed my bag and I walked beside my dad.
"Ano oorderin mo?" He asked.
Kumunot ang noo ko. "Huh?"
"Lotus. 'Di ka ba sasama?"
"No... Akala ko ay uuwi na tayo." I answered. I really wanted to go home. Aside frm the busy day that I will face tomorrow, I am not really in the mood to talk with him.
