Chapter thirty three

Third person's pov:

"We better get back to buisness. This Orochimaru is one of the Sanin. The legendary three ninja, isn't he?" Kotetsu asked deep in thought.

"He's supposed to be so incredibly powerful that not even the Anbu could bring him down." Izumo continued.

"Why did he come back to the village now?"

Anko stared at her hands thinking over her own encounter with Orochimaru not too long ago before she gasped and looked up at the Hogake.

"The kids..." She spoke in a low wary tone, making the Hokage turn his head in her direction.

"He's after the White Wolf and Sasuke Uchiha, right?"

And just like that it was as if the room had frozen down, with the two guards sucking in a short breath before a small screen lit up, and an examinator started speaking.

"Anko, we confirmed that 22 examinator ninjas have finished the second exam. And as for the third exam, acording to the rules we have to hold a round of preliminaries first. The first time in five years."

There was a brief time of silence in the room before Sarutobi sighed, and he took a puff from his pipe before releasing the smoke as if to calm himself and turned to look at Anko.

"Now for the time being we'll continue with the exams as it was planned. But I also want to keep an eye on his movements as well."

The Hokage spoke firlmy, yet his expression was calm.

"Yes..." Anko replied, once again deep in thoughts.

(Y/n)'s pov:

"First of all congratulations of finishing the second exam." Anko announced loudly, her hands on her hips as she smirked at us.

We were all gathered in a big room, every remaining examinator who had passed was still here. And I almost knew them all.

Across from us there were our team leaders. Zabuza was smirking probably from being proud as he stood next to Kakashi who was just paying attention to us and to practically everyone in the room besides of Guy.

Ah, I love them.

No you don't.

I roll my eyes just because I know it's absolutely pointless to argue.

"Alright, now pay attention. Lord Hokage is going to explain the third exam for you. So you better listen carefully." Anko crossed her arms, smirking at what was about to come.

Sarutobi hummed and looked at us before stepping closer to the crowd of kids and cleared his throat.

"I would like to talk about the third exam shortly. This is an exam where your life is on the line and in the third phrase you'll be fighting for your life with the pride of your village and your own dreams."

The room froze completly.

Fight for life?

Turning my head everyone was silent with a rather disturbed look on their faces, or expressionless.

Looking at my Sunshine boy, he was the only one smirking to himself before he mumbled out loud for everyone to hear.

"Well, you sure convinced me." Naruto grinned, crossing his arms.
