A satisfied smile lingered on Jungwon's face as he slumped onto the couch, the exhaustion of a long practice session finally catching up with him. The image of Jina, laughing under the pre-dawn sky, kept replaying in his mind, a warm counterpoint to the cool air conditioning. Sharing their hidden feelings had felt like taking a weight off his chest, but now came the real challenge – making it work.
"Jungwon-ah, earth to Jungwon!" Heeseung's voice cut through his daydream. Jungwon blinked, realizing the other members were staring at him expectantly.
"What were you thinking about?" Sunghoon asked, a playful glint in his eyes.
Jungwon's smile faltered slightly. Should he tell them more? They'd already been surprisingly supportive of his budding feelings for Jina, but navigating this uncharted territory still felt intimidating.
Taking a deep breath, he decided to confide in them a little further. "Just... thinking about Jina," he admitted, a blush creeping up his neck.
Heeseung chuckled. "See? I told you guys it wasn't just a random late-night walk."
The other members erupted in good-natured teasing, but this time it felt different. There was a genuine curiosity in their eyes, a desire to understand. Encouraged by their openness, Jungwon spilled his concerns.
"What if it's just a fling? What if she forgets about me once she's back home?"
Jake, usually the quiet one, spoke up. "Jungwon," he said, his voice surprisingly serious, "if she felt the same way you do, it's not going to be something she easily forgets."
His words offered a glimmer of hope. Heeseung patted Jungwon's shoulder reassuringly. "Look, we all know you like her. But remember, you can't control her feelings. The best you can do is be honest and see where it goes."
Jungwon nodded, his resolve strengthening. He wasn't naive. They faced a long-distance relationship, constant scrutiny, and the potential fallout if their relationship went public. But with the support of his members and the memory of Jina's bright smile, he was determined to take a chance on love.
The next morning, Jina awoke to a notification on her phone. A single message from Jungwon – a simple "Thinking of you" accompanied by a cute emoji – brought a goofy grin to her face. She quickly typed a reply, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness. They were miles apart, separated by an ocean and different realities, but that first message bridged the gap, sparking a flame of hope for their future adventure in love.
