Cleona Hadley

"We should get some winter clothes, it's about to get real cold soon" Aubree implied trying to find a different way of making an actual conversation with Cleo.

"Yeah, I do need some hoodies and sweatpants" Cleo responded, trying to muster up some type of decent response to not seem different than normal.

It was Wednesday after school and Aubree invited Cleo to go to the mall with her since as of recently they haven't been speaking like they used to.

Cleo could tell Aubree knew something was up with her just by the way she was treating her. All day it's been really awkward between them, the conversation wasn't flowing the way it used to and Aubree had yet to confront her about it.

"You want to go in here real quick?" Aubree pointed to some store next to them.

"Sure"

Gunner hasn't spoken to her in about three days. It was really weird since he never would go a day without talking to her and Cleo was actually upset over it.

In her mind, she had no choice but to believe he led her on all the way up to this point just to leave her alone, and he had her right where he wanted her.

At first, she thought him leaving her alone would give her the privilege to focus back on her relationship with Samir but it was actually the opposite. She noticed herself having even more of an attitude with him recently and distancing herself from him more than before.

They had been arguing and making up almost all the time and she was surprised he hadn't tried to break up with her yet.

The arguments would always start from her being moody but end with him telling her to calm down and that he loved her because, in reality, she knew he did, and she also knew he didnt want to be arguing with her in the first place.

But now whenever she got around him, it was like a stank attitude that she just couldn't get rid of because she knew she didnt even like him anymore.

"The malls have been so boring lately, nothings cute no more" Aubree stated looking through the hangers of long-sleeved tops.

"That's why I been online shopping, I hardly come to the mall anymore" They both got quiet again, it was very awkward.

"Are you and Samir good though? Like actually" Aubree asked looking up from the clothes she was searching through, Cleo didnt even want to make eye contact.

"Yeah, we're fine, we've been going good"

"Are you sure? I feel like since you got with him we haven't been speaking as much and that's not like you..."

"Yeah, I noticed that too. I miss us" She replied searching through some clothes to avoid looking at her.

"We just gotta hang out more to get us back you know"

"Mhm"

Gunner Shepardson

Gunner leaned against the arm of the couch he was on in irritation already ready to go. His manager asked him to come out to this party tonight to network with other artists but tonight he wasn't feeling this, which was a rarity.

He got a few other rappers numbers and stuff but he had a lot going on the past few days music-wise and had been staying at his manager's house. By now all he wanted to do was go home and forget about everything for the rest of the week.

People treated him like he was grown from the way his image was portrayed but he was still young at the end of the day and already had so much going on, he didnt want to be worrying about his career every five seconds like he was pressured to do.

"You good, you're dozing off" Amari who was sitting next to him nudged him.

"Yeah, I'm good I'm tryna go home though" He pulled out his phone seeing it was already one am before sitting the cup filled with lean down next to the couch on the floor. He would've been left if he didnt come with his manager.

"Damn, you already tryna go?"

"Yeah, I aint been home in days I'm tired as fuck"

"In days? Where you been then? At a girl house?" Amari said laughing

"Nah at my manager's place, been sleeping on his couch, working on features and setting up shows and shit"

Before he could continue, this girl with blue hair was walking over to him.

"Hey, my friend over there wanted to know if she could get your number?" The girl giggled pointing over to her friend. Her friend was cute or whatever but not his type, and he didn't have time to entertain no roster right now.

"Nah I'm cool" Gunner responded

"So you don't want her number?" She repeated looking at him in confusion.

"No?"

When the girl walked away that's when he remembered Cleo. He hadn't spoken to her recently with everything he had going on but she was still on his mind heavy though.

And he honestly preferred to see her in person than be texting her, texting all day with no link intentions got on his nerves.

cleona

He stuffed his phone in his pocket and picked back up his cup. If he was gonna be here for a minute then he might as well be high like everyone else.

___

"Yo nett wake up I'm bout to drop you home"

Gunner woke up rubbing his eyes, people were still there and the music was still loud. He grabbed his phone, he had only slept for an hour according to the time.

He sighed and threw his hoodie over his head before following his manager out to the car, he's been ready to go anyway.

"Now she mad at me" He mumbled to himself rubbing his forehead.

"Who's mad at you?" Gunner sucked his teeth already knowing where this conversation was going just like always. He wasn't expecting him to hear what he said.

"This girl I'm talking to"

"Stop worrying about these girls, you're young go explore your options. The only thing you should be taking seriously right now is your career" He didnt even respond.

"I know I'm hard on you I just want to see you do good in this industry and stay focused. I also don't want you taking all those drugs either but I just get them for you because I know you got a lot going on but I need you focused and if that's what it takes to get you there then I gotta do what I gotta do"

"Yeah, I know" He hit his vape and leaned against the car window.
