Cleona Hadley

It was Friday and like always, Samir had a game. Cleo normally hated sitting on the bleachers watching something she did not even understand but in order to support him she knew she had to show up because she also knew, it bothered him when she didnt.

Cleo hasn't spoken to Gunner since she made the decision to finally block him a week ago. One night everything just got to her head and she went ahead and decided to stop talking to him altogether.

She wished she could say it cleared her head but it didnt. It did help improve her relationship with Samir since she no longer had to be sneaky on the phone around him or take hours to reply to his texts, but at the same time, she couldn't stop thinking of him.

Cleo knew time would make her get over him so she wasn't being too hard on herself but she couldn't lie and say the attachment from all the time they spent together and all the things he did to her wasn't weighing heavy on her mind.

But, she knew it was best for her to leave him alone especially since it was going to happen eventually, so why not do it now before she caught anymore feelings than she needed to?

She also knew Gunner didnt have her around for nothing more than his own gain, and it was just wasting her time on her end.

Cleo sighed before straightening the last bit of her hair. Samir sent the 'I'm outside' text about a minute ago so she had to leave to not make him late for his before-game practice like she got used to doing these past few games.

They've been on 'okay' terms again since she stopped talking to Gunner, but pretty sure both of them knew no matter how hard they tried, it wasn't ever going to get back to how it was before.

She grabbed her phone and stuffed it in her hoodie pocket before making her way out the door. Her mom was already aware of her leaving so she didnt have to go through that issue today.

"Why you look like that?" Samir said the minute she sat down in the car.

This is what she meant, ever since her constant mood swings when she was messing around with Gunner, they were never one hundred percent back to normal even when she was fine.

"Look like what Samir?"

"I don't know you just look mad again"

"Well, I'm not, so... "

They fell into silence like they always do. She rolled her eyes and grabbed her phone now irritated but, the new message request sitting in her notification made her even more upset

She quietly sucked her teeth before scanning over this person's page acknowledging it was the guy that was always around Gunner.

It had been a week and she was practically almost done moving on so how come he couldn't?
