'S P E N C E R'
Today it is Monday, it's the day of a new week. A fresh start, to just start over and move on. To keep everything in the past.
But as I stood in front of the mirror, I had straightened my hair and put it in a ponytail. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I could see an anxious girl whose heart was beating fast.
I took a deep breath and exhaled and tried to not panic. "Spencer, you're fine." I whispered to myself. But that made it worse and I could feel tears prickle in my eyes, at the same time my stomach felt like someone was tying a knot and I got nauseous from it.
Suddenly I heard a soft knock coming from on the other side of the door. "Spenc, are you okay?" A soft voice asked me. I wiped a tear that had escaped my eye and opened the door.
"Hey, yeah I'm fine." I gave the woman that was a older version of me a assuring smile. Well at least I tried to, but it didn't work that's the problem my mom saw right through me. She always did.
"You're not." She sighed out and opened her arms and wrapped them around me. I rested my head against her shoulder. "I'm scared, mom." I whispered carefully.
"That's okay, Spencer trust me you'll be fine. I made sure of it." She backed off and put her hand on my cheek. "I'm proud of you." She said with a small smile.
"Thanks mom." I gave her a small smile. "Well I have to go to work. Do you need a ride?"
"No, I'll be fine." I mumbled. She gave me a look, but accepted it. "If you need me, or something happens call me." She warned me.
After bickering for a while, she finally left for work and I let out a sigh. "Fuck." I mumbled to myself and walked downstairs.
I made myself a bowl of cornflakes and some milk and sat down. As I watched my cornflakes get soggy, since my appetite had disappeared.
Before I knew it, I stepped out of the bus that stopped at the bus stop that was in front of my new school.
I followed the group of students that also went by the bus. When everyone entered this huge building, I stopped walking trying to find the courage to walk in, but I couldn't my body just froze. Like someone had a remote and put me on pause.
Just seeing students laughing with there friends made me feel jealous. It's something I never had experienced and, I'm really tired of being alone at this point.
"Hey, you good?" Suddenly a voice said snapping me back to reality. I looked next to me and saw a tall blonde guy standing there with a confused look on his face, but yet he had a small smile on his face.
"Uhm I-" I didn't know what to say, it felt like I forgot how to talk. "You're new aren't you?" He asked me, the confused look on his face had disappeared.
"Yeah, I'am." I sighed out. "Well I'm Theo, what's your name?" He asked me.
This interaction felt weird, it felt like a trap. But I tried to make those thoughts disappear and listen what Theo has to say.
"I'm Spencer."
"Nice to meet you. Do you want me to show you the principals office?" He asked me. For some reason, I trusted him. He sounded so sincere.
