Sicarius Pt. 4

After securing the body and getting Michelle checked out we made it back to the BAU again with Luke surprisingly in one piece. Rossi and JJ were there to greet us at the elevators while Mrs Tucker hurried to her Husband.

"Robert Harris killed himself. Same as Rory Gilcrest" Luke told the pair

"And just like Rory, nothing about him profiled as suicidal" I added, "whoever Sicarius is, he must have something on these guys"

"Or that's the Devil's bargain for joining the network. Kill yourself before you get caught" Rossi retaliated

"Good for him, bad for us. We just lost our best lead" I left out a frustrated sigh

"It's okay. We've got others" Rossi replied optimistically

"We do?" Luke asked, both of us confused by this

"I'll explain. Go interview them first so they can go home" and so me, Luke and JJ went to go interview Mr and Mrs Tucker

The interview went smoothly, the pair seemed too on edge to give anything too promising at the moment so, we just let them go home and told them to call us if they think of anything else. After that Rossi sent the three of us home which I was so grateful for considering it was 4am already, meaning a 22hr day. I was exhausted.

Rossi told me earlier than Pen was in her liar so I quickly went and said bye to her before signing out. Just as I made it to my car I heard someone call out after me

"Y/N"

"Hye JJ, need something?" I asked, thinking she'd already gone home

"Yeh actually, Emily drove me in this morning, any chance I could catch a lift?" She swung her arms gently clasped behind her back giving me puppy eyes. I wouldn't say no to her anyway, we both know that but at least she's pretending she has to convince me.

"Come on then" I rolled my eyes unlocking my car. She jumped in, immediately connecting her phone to the car's aux to play some music

"I was gonna stop for food if you're hungry. If not, I can just go after I drop you off, I don't mind"

"Yeh I could eat" she agreed, finally choosing a song to play as I pulled out the car park. The drive was quiet apart from the music playing softly in the background and the occasional hum along to it. I pulled through the drive through and order us some food before parking up.

"I cannot wait to just pass out in bed" JJ fantasised at she took a bite of her burger

"Don't talk with your mouth full Jareau, it's gross" I jokingly scolded her but she just rolled her eyes and finished eating before speaking again

"If you could be any animal for a day, what would you be?" she asked randomly

"JJ it's" I paused looking at my phone "4:23 in the morning"

"Come on, answer it" she pushed with a smile on her face. We both had our feet resting on the dashboard just staring at the sky through the now open convertible roof. I took a moment to think of an answer before replying

"Probably an Owl"

"That's weird" she scrunched her face up

"no it's not. They're nocturnal like me, they can turn their heads like all the way round which is sick and just watch people which is what we do 24/7 as profilers" I replied, lightly offended by her reaction

"I'd be a lion"

"So basic Jareau"

"What no it's not. It's fiery and strong and majestic" she replied flicking her hair over dramatically
