The men were gone in a puff of smoke. The Knights kept their ground as the King and Queen coughed due to the smoke. When it clears is then and only then do the guards drop their guard. Mary held Nameless close but not as tight as before.
"Mr. Trex sir? Who were they?" Nameless asked quietly,
He sighs greatly out of nervousness. "They are not of concern at the moment." He turns to her "Did they hurt you?"
Nameless shakes her head, "No, I am fine...I am more shaken up by the whole attack."
He nods, "That is understandable." Queen Sora interjects, "It was a scary interaction with those brutes." She said brutes with distaste and obvious hatred. Nameless blinked twice with confusion. "What?" Queen Sora chuckled nervously "Don't worry about that sweety." She smiled with nervousness.
Mary took Nameless back to her room up in the tower. Nameless was just trying to wrap her head about the whole situation. Who the hell were those men! who was this she they kept all talking about in third person! Mary notices Nameless's restless face,
"My dear, it will be fine." Mary states.
Nameless sighs as she walks back up the many flights of stairs to her bedroom. She looks out her tower window, to the fireworks and the parade happening. To many fallen just like her father. She sighs, her mother was once such a kind and caring individual. What went wrong? Was her mother right? Was it really Nameless's fault for his death? No it couldn't have been! She was just a child!
Nameless sighs "What did I do to deserve this? What did I do that day mother? Tell me so." As the evening turns into a brisk and cold night. Nameless goes to lay on her bed, tired and sad. As Mary changed her into her night gown, Nameless went to bed. However in the middle of the night she awoke to a shadow wolf at her window, carrying a letter. It was from the Darkness rouges, surprisingly it was a gift. It was the shadow wolfs contract and its ties to nameless, since it belonged to her father. But how would they know about her, let alone her father.
"What is this? Why are you giving me some letter?" The shadow wolf stared at nameless, tilting their masked head before jumping off the tower window and escaping into the pits of the shadows known as the alleys of the city.
Nameless blinked twice in utter shock and confusion before shaking her head and looking down at the letter and small little gift box in her hands. She walked over to her silk lined bed and soft mattress, as she sat, the mattress molded around her waist, fitting like a glove. She turned the letter in her hand. Only seeing a name, In neat, precise and elegant cursive. "Everflame" was all it said. On the back of the envelope was a wax stamp with the Shadow Rogues logo in bright bloody red wax.
The logo had a flaming wolf skull with two swords through it as their logo, a little flashy but easily remembered. Nameless sighed before gently breaking the seal of the wax and opening the envelope. She took out a letter and what followed was a simple amulet necklace. She looks at the amulet, it looks like a cosmos, there were white little dots in a vast sea of purples, blues and pinks. Black ran in the background like a child painting on the walls of the house. She picked it up, in truth it was breath taking. She remembered seeing it in a stall one day and wanting it for herself. But her mother slapped her and yelled at her.
"How did they know about this? I was 5 when I wanted this." Nameless muttered to herself in the dimly lit room. Being 11 was hard enough, but now she was chosen, the Shadow Rogues appear, somethings a miss! Nameless can't put her finger on it! She looks at the letter, As she reads,
"Dear Ms. Everflame, It is time you know the total truth about your father. He wasn't killed in an accident, nor on accident. He was apart of a very much bigger plot. He was murdered. Your mother lied to you. She knows what happened due to her past. She didn't want you to go to the ceremony due to what your father had arranged. You see your mother has a secret of her own. Your father wasn't just an ordinary citizen. He was the son of-" Nameless heard a big boom out side her window, the other Capitals were coming. It wasn't time yet. Something was coming and she knew she couldn't keep this letter. As she heard footsteps she rips up the letter and scatters the pieces into her fire place, she then takes the amulet and hides it under her pillow before climbing into her bed and pretending that she was asleep. Mary knocks on her door,
"Miss? I'm so sorry to wake you, but the meeting of Olympus is being pushed up to a few minutes later. I have come to get you dressed." As nameless sits up, she is put into a simple dress and armor set, it made her elegant and stunning yet ready for any conflict that may occur.
Nameless puts on her boots that were equipped with heels and steel toe, as she followed Mary down the stairs of her tower bedroom. As she descents down the stairs the pit in her stomach not only grows put gathers in strength. When she reaches the bottom two guards are waiting and escort her to the main meeting room. The leader of the Capital of Kings, and the leader of the Capital of the Tides sat at a round table.
Their champions match their stereotypes. The Heavens had a tall, young, arrogant blonde boy with sapphire eyes standing next to them, his wings purely white and the bottom of his feathers dipped in gold, his armor was white as his wings, gold accenting them with such grace. The earth had a more emotional and quiet boy with dark brown hair and smoky grey eyes, his armor was blue and had gills, along with webbed fingers, tan and light blue skin, and he was slightly shorter the Heavens champion but still taller then Nameless. The whole table turns to look at me as Queen Sora and King Trex both smiled softly at Namless's entrance. She wore a Black dress and embroidered red thread, with black and red armor and black and red boots. Her hair was in a long braid reaching her knees, she also had a black head piece with a blood red gem stone on her forehead. The head piece flowed with her hair, making her braid much more lavish. The Heavens and Earth Champions both stared at her, stunned and kind of shocked. She was the first girl champion in almost 2 eras.
