"I wanted to burn my past."

"But, I didn't know that I would also burn my future."

Sunghoon, a stoic young man, is haunted by a past he desperately wants to forget. He recently fought with his mother, causing him to move out and hope for a fresh start.

Sunoo, a bright and curious classmate, befriends Sunghoon despite his withdrawn nature. Sunoo has a natural intuition and a knack for picking up on hidden emotions.

One day, they decide to go on a walk at the beach. It was a pretty peaceful day, just the two of them alone. The sound of the waves and the wind blowing made them feel at ease.

Sunghoon walks with a heavy silence, kicking at the sand with each step. Sunoo watches him worriedly, the carefree smile he usually wears replaced by a frown. Finally, Sunoo can't hold back any longer.

"Sunghoon," he says softly, "is something wrong?"

Sunghoon hesitates, then stops abruptly, staring out at the vast ocean. He clenches his fists, a flicker of pain crossing his face.

"I..." he starts, then trails off. "I just... I want to forget everything."

Sunoo feels a pang of sympathy. He's noticed how Sunghoon always seems to be looking over his shoulder, a shadow following him wherever he goes.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Sunoo asks gently.

Sunghoon lets out a humorless laugh. "No, this is something I have to deal with on my own."

He looks back at Sunoo, his eyes filled with deep sadness.

"Sunoo," Sunghoon softly says, his voice barely above a whisper. "I just feel stressed. After that fight with my mom, my whole life went downhill."

Sunoo places a hand on his shoulder, gently caressing it with his thumb. "Hey, you can talk to me, you know? We're friends."

He softly smiles. "Thank you, Sunoo. You're the best." Sunghoon embraces Sunoo in a hug, his grip tightening around his waist every second. Sunoo gladly hugs back, trying to soothe him.

"There, there Hoonie. I'm sure everything will get better soon." Sunoo reinsured, trying to comfort the older.

Sunghoon rests his chin on top of the younger's head and gently kisses it. "You're everything I ever dreamed of. I adore you, Sunoo."

Sunoo slowly pulls away and looks up at Sunghoon. "God, I... I think I've fallen for you" He admitted, placing a hand on his cheek and leaning in a bit.

His breath hitched, not being used to this at all. The world seemed like it shrunk to just him and Sunoo. The crashing waves were a distant roar.

His hand, which has been clenched into a fist, unconsciously moved to cradle the younger's cheek. Sunoo's eyes, usually filled with cheerfulness and pride, now held a vulnerability that mirrored Sunghoon's own.

The playful teasing, the easy banter– all a distant memory. This was raw, unfiltered emotion, a confession hanging heavy in the salty air.

"Sunoo, I..." He trailed off, unsure of how to continue the conversation.
