Magic Carpet

12 5 4

I can't wait,

From the instant when I open my eyes,
Alone,

To close them again,
At the end of the day,

As I sit through my breakfast,
Trudge through my morning,
Suffer through my afternoon,
Alone,

Thinking of you,
Daydreaming about my dream,
Anticipating the moment
when I'll lay,
at the end of the day,

Upon the magic carpet spun of wishes,
Unspooled like a dream under my single bed,

A vessel that carries me to you,
My armourless, shining knight,
Night after night.
