The Heaven of the Lonely

1 1 1

She stumbled and tripped her way through life,
Alone,
With no one at her side to prevent her uncountable falls,

But she always pulled herself back to her feet,
Alone,
With ripped skirts, bleeding knees and battered toes,

Each fall becoming a hard learned lesson on life,
Alone,
On finding happiness in silence and wisdom in solitary thoughts,

On discovering herself when no one cared to do it,
Alone,
On finding peace with herself in the solemn solitude of long nights.

And each fall brought her closer to her destination,
Alone,
Each new step took her higher,
On her way to the heaven of the lonely people,
Where they tread on angel wings,
A well-earned reward for their lonesome, melancholic lives.
