"Miles no!"
The boy chuckled, "Y/N, relax.
Y/N huffed, "You're going to get in trouble with Mrs. Calleros."

Miles shrugged, "It's just paint."
"Yea, paint you didn't ask to borrow! You have to ask the teacher first..."
Miles sighed, "Y/N, it's okay, I've done this way before. Plus, we're best friends, right? You won't tell one me right?"

Y/N sighed and nodded, she didn't like the thought of getting into trouble, especially with her own best friend Miles. Miles was the little rebel kid in preschool, most of the time he would always be in a timeout corner throughout the day. How did these two become friends? No clue, it started just by Miles for asking to 'borrow' a pencil, which was never returned by the way.

From the moment they met from that interaction on the first day of preschool, they were inseparable. In the sandbox, they built castles out of sand and dreams, shared cookies and secrets, and played pretend under the watchful eyes of their teacher. Miles, with his bright eyes and boundless mischievous, and Y/N, with her infectious giggle and wild imagination, seemed destined to be lifelong friends.

But as the final days of preschool approached, life had other plans. Miles's family moved to the bustling city nearby, leaving Y/N behind in Brooklyn. They hugged each other tight on that last day, promising to stay friends forever. Yet, as the years rolled by, the memories of their time together started to fade, buried under the new experiences and friendships that came with growing up.

Y/N POV

The neon lights of the city blurred as I sprinted across the rooftops, my breath coming in ragged gasps. The Prowler, with his relentless pursuit and cunning tactics, had pushed me to my limits. My muscles ached from exhaustion. I had been fighting crime for months, but this battle with the Prowler, was particularly draining.

With one final leap, I landed on the rooftop of my apartment building, barely managing to swing myself through my bedroom window. I collapsed onto my bed, my suit still on, and fell into a restless sleep, haunted by dreams of battles and near misses.

The blaring alarm clock jolted me awake far too soon. Groaning, I dragged myself out of bed. I had another long day ahead, and I dreaded every second of it. I felt the weight of exhaustion pressing down on me as I trudged through the front doors of Visions. The night had been long and grueling, filled with the chaos of battling the Prowler across the city's rooftops and alleyways. My body ached, my mind was foggy, and my heart pounded with the lingering adrenaline from the fight.

I had barely managed to change out of my Spider suit and into my school uniform before the first bell rang. As I navigated the crowded halls, all I wanted was to make it through the day without falling asleep in class.

"Hey, Y/N! You okay?" Jennie asked, noticing the dark circles under my eyes.

"Just tired," I replied with a forced smile. "Didn't get much sleep." Jennie gave me a sympathetic look but didn't press further.

As I slid into my seat in history class, I barely noticed Miles sitting a few rows away, shooting me a disdainful glance. Their rivalry was no secret. Ever since we had met, there had been an unspoken tension between us, a constant clash of personalities that made working together nearly impossible.

"Alright, class," Mr. Warren announced, clapping his hands to get their attention. "We're starting a new project today, and you'll be working in pairs."

My heart sank. The last thing I needed was a group project, especially with someone who might be difficult to work with, specifically Miles. I prayed the universe would give me just this one thing and LET ME HAVE PEACE FOR ONCE. Mr. Warren began reading off the pairs, and as he got closer to my name, I held my breath.
