Dinner at the Walter house had never been this quiet
I was sitting in-between Isaac and Lee as we ate our food silently waiting for Jackie and Cole's arrival
"Is there anything left because I'm starving, probably not because Spitfires here" Cole says walking in with his usual cocky smile on his face, with Jackie following behind him
"You know you are supposed to call if you're running late aye?" George says
"Thats the whole reason you have a phone" he finishes
"Where have you guys been?" I ask Cole
"Uh we went to the waterhole" Cole says, starting to put food on his plate
"Lost track of time?" I say, rolling my eyes
Cole points at me and nods
"10 points to Spitfire" he smirks and steals a chip off my plate, I frown at him
"Listen I-" Jackie begins to say but George cuts her off
"Jackie excuse me" he says
George turns to Cole and speaks up, more firmly this time
"Cole, do you know anything about a bet with Kaia this morning?" he says
Cole looks to me and then to George
"No, nope don't know anything about it" he says, looking at his food and me, more than George
"I think you do" he says
"Seriously Cole" Katherine says
"It wasn't Cole, it was my idea" I interrupt, I wasn't going to let Cole take the blame, I was the one who agreed to it
"It was a joke okay, we didn't mean for it to go that far" I say, as everyone looks at me
Jackie glares at me then sighs
"Maybe ask Jordan what he's got on camera and what Kaia's got on her phone" Alex says
"Dude seriously" Lee says
"What the fuck Al" I spit
Anger boils inside of me as I bite my tongue hard, trying to keep myself from lashing out at him
"I'm done" I say firmly, standing up and beginning to walk away
"Kaia sweetie, sit down" Katherine says
I don't say anything
"Sit" George says firmly to me
So, I do and stay silent
"Jackie, I'm so sorry" Katherine says
"I'm going to wash my hair" she says and walks out
"Can I help" Katherine calls after her
"No thank you" Jackie says firmly
"Jordan, go get the camera and Kaia give me your phone" George says
I stiffen and pass it to him over the table
"Va a estar bien Kai (It's going to be alright Kai)" Isaac whispers to me, putting his hand in mine and squeezing it gently
