༺ 𝙲𝚘𝚕𝚎 ༻
I hear the door open as I just finished cleaning up Parker's and Benny's toys outside, placing them in the basket.
I turned and saw Spitfire walk out. She had changed clothes, which pleased me, but it was clear she hadn't brushed her hair. It was tied in a messy bun on top of her head and her face was free of makeup.
"They already left for the party, but I'll just finish up here and we can hang out" I tell her, as I place the basket on the floor under the table
Kaia nods
She walks over to me and spots the two lists of paper on the table, containing our lists of chores
"We had chores to do, and you did my chores as well as your?" she asks
I nod
"You seemed tired, so I did it" I say
"You didn't have to do that but thanks Tinkerbell" she says
"No problem, Spitfire" I say, grinning at her
Once I finished putting away the toys me and doing the rest of the jobs, with Kaia refusing to let me do it on my own, we finally finished all the jobs, and it was around 5pm and it started raining
We walked back inside and into the kitchen, both of us agreed on making hot chocolates
"Let me make them, you sit down and watch how the pro does it" Kaia says
"Are you sure you're not going to try poison me Spitfire?" I ask, sheepishly
Kaia rolls her eyes and pulls out two cups and all the ingredients she needed, the jar of chilli catching my eye
"Chilli?" I ask
"Just wait and see" she says and starts making our drinks
Once she's finished, she slides over my cup, the drink containing a ton of mini marshmallows at the top
She takes a seat next to me and takes a sip of her drink, with me doing the same
"I thought you said this was hot chocolate" I say, putting my cup down as I feel a tingle of spice on my tongue
"Spicy hot chocolate" Kaia says, as she laughs slightly
Shes laughing again, baby steps Spitfire, baby steps
"But compared to how my family made it, there's maybe a dash of chilli power in the milk, so I saved you by putting less in" she says
"I've been saved again by her majesty" I say as Kaia shoves me playfully
I grin as I take another sip of my drink
"Okay I don't know what type of chocolate they have in New York-" I say but she interrupts me
"Hey- Hey if you can't handle it" she says pulling my cup away with a smile on her face
"No, no, no I'm not saying I can't handle it" I say, taking it back from her
"I'm just saying that you know, it wasn't something I was expecting" I say, while smirking at her
She rolls her eyes while she smiles and takes a sip of her drink
I turn and look at her, her eyes seemed to hold a world of thoughts and emotions.
As she turned to look at me, a shy smile played on her lips, warmth spread through me.
