"Mayumi?" Nanami looked at her room door, concerned. He quietly opened the door to see her curled into a ball in the corner, sniffling.
"Mayumi, honey, what's wrong?"
In between sniffles she managed to ask her father a question that would break his heart.
"Why does everyone hate me Papa? I try to be nice but people are never nice to me."
Nanami tried to contain himself and patted her back, before reassuring her that not everyone hates her.
"Mayumi honey, a lesson you'll come to learn as you grow older is that people dislike difference. You are unorthodox, but you are the most sacred treasure I could ever ask for. You are so sweet, and such a precious girl. I'd hate for you to live your life thinking that people hate you." Nanami said, with a tear in his eye.
Mayumi and Nanami sat there for what seemed like hours. Nanami continued to comfort a crying Mayumi. After Mayumi calmed down, Nanami left the room to go gather the students and Gojo. He figured that giving Mayumi a trusted circle would help her feel more comfortable.
