Shamsi Bennett is the firstborn of a set of fraternal sextuplets. She and her five sisters are collectively known throughout the supernatural world as the Court of Jewels: six girls possessing extraordinary reserves of pure magic, frightening intelligence, and the potential to become perfect weapons.
The Bennett Coven, however, has absolutely no intention of allowing anyone to turn their girls into weapons. The sisters are consequently among the most heavily protected young witches in the coven.
On their thirteenth birthday, each girl was formally presented with a set of enchanted jewellery by the Bennett Coven. The pieces protect their wearer from anyone approaching them with negative or malicious intentions. Shamsi received a magnificent diamond set, earning her the title the Diamond.
The jewellery is heavily glamoured to ordinary humans, but supernatural beings can see it for what it truly is. By fourteen, Shamsi has already accumulated several titles of her own.
Her personal favourite is the Siren of the Bennett Coven.
Shamsi discovered how to turn her voice into a magical weapon.
The ability is not limited to singing. Her magic can travel through her humming and any musical instrument she plays, transforming music itself into a conduit for her power. She rarely uses this particular gift offensively. There is a very good reason for that.
The most infamous story surrounding the Bennett Siren claims that Shamsi once turned the streets of Portland into a canvas painted with the blood of the Gemini Coven.
Outside of her siren abilities, Shamsi practises both Algorithmic and Traditional Magic. However, much like her ancestor Emily Bennett, Shamsi possesses a particular affinity for creating magical tools, artefacts, and enchanted jewellery.
It is one of several reasons she is increasingly regarded as Emily Bennett reborn.
SHAMSI'S CORNER
1) The formal hierarchy of the Bennett Coven was reinstated because of Shamsi.
2) Shamsi and her sisters are magically equal. Their magic is so closely tied that none possesses an inherently higher magical ranking than the others.
3) She practises Connective Magic and teaches it to her sisters, allowing the six girls to draw upon one another's power when necessary.
