Bonnie Bennett is the daughter of Abby Bennett and Rudy and one of the most naturally powerful witches of her generation. Unlike many members of the Bennett Coven, Bonnie spent most of her childhood unaware of her magical heritage and did not begin consciously practising witchcraft until she was sixteen.
Within the Bennett Coven, Bonnie possesses the strongest pure magic and control.
Braelyn describes her younger sister as a sponge. Bonnie absorbs magical knowledge at an extraordinary rate, adapting to new disciplines and incorporating what she learns into her existing magic. Rather than being restricted to one speciality, she has the capacity to study numerous branches of witchcraft and continually reinvent herself as a practitioner.
Her magical potential was never Bonnie's greatest obstacle.
Her perception of herself was.
Bonnie is the only Bennett to have experienced abandonment by her blood family, and years of magical influence and conditioning left lasting effects on the way she viewed her own worth. She became self-conscious, excessively self-sacrificing and far too willing to treat her own life as less valuable than the lives of the people around her.
That mentality has taken considerable work to undo.
Through therapy, magical cleansing and deliberate distance from unhealthy influences, Bonnie has gradually begun embracing herself without guilt. Six months after genuinely beginning to accept herself, she completed the Bennett family rites, formally embracing the heritage she had once barely understood.
A year into her healing journey, Bonnie received the title Princess Royal of the Bennett Coven.
The title reflects more than magical strength. Bonnie is being prepared as Braelyn's successor, making her future position within the coven one of enormous responsibility.
Her personal relationships have changed alongside her healing. Bonnie is no longer affiliated with her father and sold everything Rudy ever gave her. Her relationship with Abby remains distant.
Rather than continuing to chase people who repeatedly chose to leave, Bonnie has begun building her life around the people who consistently choose her.
Magic remains one of the areas where Bonnie's transformation is most visible.
She possesses powerful psychic abilities, particularly in divination, and is recognised as one of the extremely rare true psychics recorded among witches. Her psychic potential extends considerably beyond receiving visions. Braelyn believes Bonnie possesses the capacity to eventually create entire psychic realms, placing the potential scale of her abilities alongside figures such as Qetsiyah and Cade.
Bonnie's relationship with fate is equally unusual.
Despite possessing considerable talent for divination, she is not content simply to observe what is supposed to happen.
Bonnie is a fate breaker.
If she determines that someone's destined outcome should be changed, she possesses the ability to interfere with that fate.
Her most infamous magical speciality, however, eventually becomes Expression.
Expression is notoriously dangerous because it does not merely provide power. It overwhelms, corrupts and consumes witches who attempt to wield too much of it.
Bonnie is one of the extraordinarily rare exceptions.
Expression cannot control her.
As she grows older and masters the discipline, Bonnie becomes known throughout the supernatural world as the Witch of Expression, not because she surrendered herself to the magic but because she accomplished something few practitioners believed possible:
She made Expression answer to her.
Outside of magic, Bonnie intends to become a psychologist. Her interest in the field is deeply personal, shaped by her own experiences with trauma, conditioning, abandonment and recovery. For someone whose supernatural abilities allow her to enter minds, perceive futures and eventually construct psychic worlds, Bonnie remains equally interested in understanding people without magic.
