Bishop & King - Part 8

My phone buzzed in my pocket. I took it out and read the screen:

Hollie: Hey gurl! Forest sleepover?

I quickly replied with: Who will be there?

She didn't hesitate to reply.

Hollie: So far, it's Me, Josh, Scott, Darren, Sam and Taylor!

Me: Ok! Let me go ask my mum! Be back in a sec!

I pocketed my phone again and made my way down the stairs. My mum was in the kitchen, stirring a liquid I wasn't sure of.

"Hey mum! Can I go to the forest for a sleepover?" I asked, readying my puppy dog eyes just incase.

"Who with?" She asked, glancing up at me for a quick second, before continuing to mix the unknown liquid.

"Uh... Hollie, Scott and a few others." I replied. I didn't want my mum to freak out that girls were outnumbered by boys, she would question me, get my hopes up and then not let me go. "Please?" I pleaded.

She paused for a few moments and then started speaking: "Yeah, why not? Go and have some fun!" She smiled. My features flooded with shock.

"Really?" I asked, wide-eyed. I had to reassure myself I wasn't hallucinating. She nodded. "Ok! I'm gonna go pack!" I yelled over my shoulder, flying upstairs. I grabbed my pink stripy duffel bag and grabbed my phone.

Me: I'm coming! What exactly do I need?

Hollie: Will you bring my two piece I left at your house? Pretty please?

I chuckled, before replying.

Me: Yeah sure, so what food?

Hollie: Come to my house and we'll go to the store, just remember my bikini!

I laughed again.

Me: Yeah, I will!

I dropped my phone on the bed. I changed into my pink ruffle two piece and slipped a denim effect crop top, that reached my belly button on. I put on my white shorts with gold studs on. I put my feet into my brown sandals and tied my hair up into a messy bun. I threw clothes in, that I would need - plus the two piece Hollie wanted, a sleeping bag and pulled the bag onto my shoulder. I went into the kitchen to say goodbye to my mum.

I knocked on the door. Hollie opened it with one smooth action. Josh appeared behind her. I stepped in and flung the bikini at Hollie.

"Lifesaver!" She squealed and rushed towards her room, probably to get changed.

"Hey Joshie!" I raised my hand for a high five.

"Hi Beth!" He slapped my hand. We laughed. "Ready for a great night?"He asked.

"That could be misinterpreted." I stated. Josh started to blush. "Lucky Hollie didn't hear that." I giggled.

"I-I didn't mean it ... like that." He was so easy to embarass!

"I know!" I chuckled, slapping lightly on the arm.

Hollie ran down the stairs. She was wearing the black and white, zig - zag bikini she had requested. She paired it with a red playsuit and black flip - flops. Her hair was left down and she was smiling from ear to ear. She was obviously excited. We exited her house and made our way to the store.

"Let's go!" She announced, she picked up her black shoulder bag and headed to the door.

We searched down every aisle, picking out everything and anything. Josh and Hollie walked ahead of me, hand in hand. They were great together. They looked so cute!

"Yum... Hershey Kisses!" Hollie reached towards them.

"Are you sure we need them?" Josh bartered. Hollie nodded determinedly. He was about to break so I backed him up.

"Yeah, Hols, won't they melt in the sun?" She paused to think.

"Yeah, I suppose." She put them back, looking defeated. Josh looked worried, he was so in love with her, it was unreal!

"Hey, we'll get you some tomorrow." He pulled her into a side hug. She grinned.

"Ok!"

We reached the checkout and the cashier just sat there, eyeing them, jealousy evident in her eyes. I cleared my throat and she sent me daggers before giving us our total.

Wow, what was her problem?
