We had been walking for fifteen minutes but it seemed like forever.
"Are we there yet?" I grumbled.
"Nearly." Josh laughed lightly.
"Ooh! I can see it!" Hollie jumped up and down. She was so over excited. Don't get me wrong - I was excited but I was fed up of walking. Hollie ran full speed ahead at Scott. She jumped on him, trying to catch him off guard but Scott easily caught her. "Hi Scott." She giggled. She was so hyper.
Did Josh buy her Monster?
"Who gave Holl Monster?" Scott voiced my thoughts. Josh hesitantly raised his hand.
"Josh! You know how hyper she gets!" I scolded.
"Sorry, she's hard to say no to." Josh scratched the back of his head. Hollie smiled smugly. I shook my head chuckling at both of them.
"You're whipped, man." Darren laughed. Hollie climbed off Scott's back and clambered on Josh's back instead.
"Hey Scottie!" I smiled widely at my other best friend, I knew he hated my nick name for him. Scott scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder, tickling me. "Stop! Stop! Stop it!" I wriggled and flailed wildly.
"No! Not until you stop calling me that!" He continued torturing me.
"Call you what? Scottie?" I teased.
"That!"
"What ever do you mean?" I asked in a posh British accent.
"You know what I mean!"
"No, no I don't!" I managed to breathe. I heard leaves rustling and I managed to turn my head to see a smirking Sam and an unhappy looking...
Eliza!?
My eyes widened and I looked towards Hollie who had the same expression as me, looking at Josh but Josh just shrugged.
This was going to be just great.
Scott stopped tickling me and put me back on my feet. I looked back up at him, smirking. He lunged forward to grab me again but I was off. I bolted towards the river.
I was a fast runner, I was on the cross country team and a member of the swimming team but Scott was even more athletic than me, he was on the swimming and cross country team too, that's how I met him. We're both competitive, so when our coach put us together for the three legged race, we became fast friends.
"I'll get you!" I heard Scott call after me. He was getting closer, I ran faster towards the river. Once I reached the clearing to the river, I searched frantically.
Where could I hide?
I spotted some roots and bushes I could duck behind. I crouched down and parted the leaves so I could see. Not long after Scott was stood where I once was. He looked around before his eyes landed on me.
"I've got you now, Bethany." He smirked. I slowly started backing away, before turning around and running for my life down a path I didn't know. Scott was still after me. I ran around in a circle, coming back into the clearing. I ran back towards the others. I looked over my shoulder to see Scott just in the distance.
I flattened myself against a tree as Hollie watched me panting in bewilderment. Scott zoomed past and I leapt on his back. I held on for my short precious life but Scott easily flipped me off, he lost his footing and fell as well, we fell in a heap on the floor, laughing and trying to catch our breath.
"Truce?" I offered my hand for him to shake.
"Truce." Scott shook my hand and we both attempted to sit up.
