You sense the gentle strength of Marcus' arms enveloping you, forming a tender embrace that radiates warmth and security.

His chin gently finds its place atop your head—a tender moment of connection. "I know you didn't want to drive, but do you want to test i-"

"Yes," you eagerly interject, interrupting him before he can even complete his thought.

You break free from his grasp and eagerly snatch the keys from his hand, making your way to the passenger side with a sense of excitement.

Meanwhile, Marcus chuckles as he observes your actions.

As you enter, your fingers glide over the velvety leather, caressing its flawless surface, while the intoxicating scent of a brand new car fills your senses.

"When did you buy this?" You ask while observing your surroundings, as if this is your first encounter with the interior of a vehicle.

"Around three, four months ago. It's been sitting in my garage because I didn't know when I'd be able to see you," He utters these words softly, his voice filled with a hint of longing, as he takes his place in the seat.

"It's the latest model, it's automatic, even though you can drive manual." His hand extends towards the roof of the car, gently tapping against an object.

With a soft voice, he reveals the hidden gem, "If you pull this down, it's a screen for the backseat, which you can watch movies on."

As his words flow, a sense of incredulity washes over you, your fingertips tracing the smooth contours of the freshly minted wheel. "How much did you pay for this?" You ask, shifting your gaze towards him.

"It's not as expensive as you think," he says with a brief chuckle, emphasising that "it was no more than a hundred and forty thousand."

"And I know we've barely even left your street, but I'd really like to go out with you again this week, maybe for dinner or shopping?" He asks.

You tear your gaze from his piercing eyes and proceed to ignite the engine of the car.

A calm stillness fills the air as you draw in a long, steady breath, determined to remain composed amidst the swirling emotions. "You usually do this when you have something to tell me."

"I usually do what?" He asks with a sense of wonderment as you begin to drive, unable to fully grasp the reality that this magnificent vehicle now belongs to you.

"You try to spend a lot of time with me and buy me expensive things before saying something that will probably make me hate you," you remark, your gaze fixed on the road ahead. "When you told me that you and Monica were getting divorced, you gave me the black Amex card but set a limit on it and took me shopping."

"And then, when you left us, you removed the limit on the card, paid my entire tuition in full, bought me a new car and bought me my apartment, even though you said you'd only ever rent an apartment for me." The grip on the wheel tightens, fingers digging into the leather, as memories of his actions flood your mind.

"So, what is it now? Because you've just given me a car twice the price of my old one, so this must be big."

A subtle clearing of the throat and a shift of the gaze, directed towards you. "I'm going to be going back to Trost to visit Calista soon and I want you to come with me."

"What?" As you come to a sudden halt at a red light, your gaze swiftly turns towards him. "You bought me a car because you want me to come back home?"

"Not entirely because I did buy this car months ago, but..." In a brief moment of stillness, he contemplates the choices he has made. "I believed it could potentially sway your opinion,"
