if you are one of the unlucky enough
to be trusted with my poetry pages
you likely will feel like you never knew me
or only knew a fake piece of me
and to that, all i can say is that it's true
these pages are somehow the truest parts of me
but they're also typically only the darkest parts
and not the parts that keep me alive
or the parts that keep me struggling to move on
so maybe you feel unlucky to know these words
but i feel just as unlucky having to write them
to even feel like i exist in my daily life
