𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈...

Currently us kids are in the Gift Shop, trying to pass time on a slow day.

We've had barely anybody come in here.

So far, just an old couple and their snotty grandkids, and a couple of teens who just made fun of the gift shop stuff and then left.

It's been really uneventful.

And I'm bored.

I'm currently laying on the ground, staring up at the ceiling at a particularly interesting crack in the wood...

Mabel's spinning on a globe, Wendy is reading something in the newspaper for once, and Dipper is flipping through the journal.

It's been pretty quiet for a while-

Nothing much other than the squeaking of the globe as Mabel spins around.

Dipper finally breaks the silence by looking up at his sister, trying to get her attention, "Mabel... Do you believe in ghosts?"

Mabel spins a bit faster, laughing as she smacks Dipper's head on her way around, "I believe you're a big dork."

Dipper looks down at me, and I give him a thumbs-up as he uses his pencil to stop the spinning globe, making Mabel fall to the ground.

I laugh.

I'm so bored that what just happened was funny.

Somebody help me.

I mean, I'd rather do literally anything than what I'm doing right now. I'd rather talk about anything, I mean- COME ON-

"Hey, speaking of which... Do you guys believe in that new vigilante in the papers?" Wendy asks, and I find myself freezing as I take back everything I said.

'ANYTHING BUT THAT. ANYTHING BUT THAT-!'

I perk up, laughing awkwardly as sweat practically drips down the back of my neck, "VIGILANTE? Haha- WHAAAT. That's- That's so weird! I definitely- Definitely haven't um- Heard of that."

I sit there awkwardly, mentally hating myself for saying that of all things as I sit there and stare into oblivion.

Any second now they're gonna catch on and-

"What? Dude, it's all over the papers," Wendy says, tossing me a paper which I pretend to know nothing about, "They're calling her the Rising Sun. She's been like- Leaving a calling card or something."

"Hey, we ran into her!" Dipper jumps off the barrel he was sitting on, and I feel my pulse rising exponentially as he gets up and sits by me, "Gideon like- Bit her."

I just suck in a deep breath, subconsciously pulling my sweater down a bit to hide the bite mark that I lied about.

I hand Dipper the paper without another word, letting him look it over as he gasps in awe and starts fangirling, "This is so COOL! A real life- What is she, a NINJA? That's so cool... Oh- I'm definitely gonna look into this..."

Great.

That's just great.

I chuckle awkwardly, listening to Dipper babble about it for another couple of minutes before my knight in shining armor bursts through the door.

"RYLIE! SOOS! WENDY!" Stan screams, and I nearly fall onto my hands and knees in relief, quickly standing to attention and running to stand behind Soos...
