Final Day...Aanya, the renowned lawyer known for her unblemished record, had once again emerged victorious. With the betrayal case against Natik successfully concluded, justice was served—he was now behind bars, facing penalties for leaking confidential company documents.
“So, Shanaya Raisinghani, do I have to pay you twice, or will you pay me twice?” Aanya asked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
“The money will be transferred to your bank account, Aanya,” Shanaya replied, her voice steady.
“Or do you still need Siya Maheswari?” Aanya pressed, a playful smirk on her face.
Shanaya cleared her throat. “Sorry for judging you! But the only thing I trust is the potential I heard about Siya Maheswari,” she responded coolly.
“It’s okay; the person who suggested you might not have been in their right mind, considering they didn’t know me—Aanya Singhania,” Aanya retorted.
“Okay then, Aanya. I’m leaving; I have a meeting.” Shanaya turned to walk away.
“Alright!”
The case was over, but would Shanaya and Aanya drift back into the realm of strangers? No, they didn’t. They often found themselves meeting not just for case discussions but also to share pieces of their lives.
As time passed, they became friends—or perhaps something deeper. Despite winning the case, neither felt truly happy. Why was that? Perhaps it was the thought of never seeing each other again that lingered like a shadow.
Sometimes, we don’t realize how someone can become so significant that their absence begins to leave a void. As fate would have it, they started meeting more frequently, their bond strengthening.
In this unexpected turn of events, Aanya and Shanaya became each other’s healers, the remedy they didn’t know they needed. Shanaya, who had always kept her walls up, found herself opening up to Aanya.
A Few Weeks Later...
Due to business commitments, Shanaya had to travel to Paris. Excited, she invited Aanya to join her on what would also be a girls' holiday.
A girl she had only met through a case a week prior had transformed into someone she deeply cared for. Aanya, once cold-hearted, had warmed to Shanaya, though neither anticipated the closeness they would soon share.
On the Way to Paris...
They arrived in Paris at night, heading to their penthouse apartment situated on the top floor, offering a breathtaking view of the city—a glimpse of heaven that felt akin to royalty.
Shanaya's meeting was with the owner of Arthur Firm, but they had only communicated via video call through his assistant. The collaboration meeting was set for the following day.
Next Morning...
On their way to a café, Shanaya stepped up to order drinks while Aanya waited. Suddenly, someone touched her from behind, preparing to hug her. When he realized it was Aanya, he halted abruptly.
“Oops! Sorry, Miss, I misunderstood you. My apologies,” he said, his voice smooth yet playful.
Aanya could see his face clearly despite his cap; something about him felt familiar, but she quickly dismissed the thought.
“Nice way to greet someone, mister,” Aanya shot back, annoyance creeping into her tone.
“Miss, I wasn’t trying to touch you; I was waiting for someone,” he replied defensively.
“Then why would I want to touch someone like you?” Aanya snapped.
“I’m Austin Kim, the famous violinist,” he replied with a hint of sarcasm.
Aanya scoffed, “What do you mean by ‘someone like me’? What do you mean, pervert?”
“I think smart people understand what ‘someone like you’ means,” Austin teased, an amused glint in his eyes.
“And pervert? Don’t you dare call me that! I’m just apologizing for my mistake, and you’re calling me names?” Austin shot back, his tone rising.
Just then, Shanaya called out, “Aanya, the drinks are ready!”
Pointing a finger at Austin, Aanya warned, “You’d better not show up in front of me again, Mr. Pervert, or it won’t end well for you!”
“Listen, Miss, you’re calling me pervert again! I said sorry for my mistake. As for showing up in front of you—my luck isn’t that bad,” Austin quipped, turning to leave.
“Fuck you!” Aanya shouted after him, storming over to where Shanaya stood.
