You stared at the sleeping child in your arms with warm feelings in your chest. After dealing with Claude and the Council for the entire afternoon, you rushed that the Alpheus Mansion with Roger to visit Jennette.

Seeing you enter her room made her smile immediately, but when you picked her up, she fell asleep in less than five minutes.

Although, seeing her at peace helped calm your mind. It was a reminder that you managed to evade Claude yet again today, and Jennette was safe from harm.

You were beginning to become too close with that man. You hoped the issue with Sirkana would solve itself soon, so that you wouldn't have a reason to see that man so often.

Ah fuck, but I did join the Council.

You sighed. You stiffened again when you felt Jennette stir in her sleep, and you wondered if you were moving too much for her to be able to sleep soundly.

You looked down and saw that her eyes were still closed. At least you didn't wake her up.

As long as silence—

The door to Jennette's room creaked open, and in came Roger Alpheus. His eyes were on you, and not once dropped down to the child in your arms, so you figured he was here for you. When he came in, he held two letters in his hands.

"I figured you would be here. You only visit for her," Roger finally glanced at Jennette.

"That's not true. I come here for Ijekiel too."

Annoying Roger was a fun hobby you picked up over the year. Roger seemed to disagree, but you didn't care about his opinion.

Roger gave you a stare, "Glad to see my cousin cares for me so much. I feel the same way."

You didn't know if Roger and Penelope were particularly close, or if the woman whose body you inhabit was close with Roger, but you did grow comfortable with him during your stay in this world. He was one of the first few people you saw, and he helped you through it all.

Although a small part of you thought that he only cared so much because you were Jennette's maternal aunt, and he needed you to be on his side once Jennette becomes Princess of Obelia.

But it was the harmless banter and heartfelt conversations that you shared with him throughout the past year that made you think otherwise. Roger was ambitious and was willing to use almost anything for his goal, but he wasn't heartless.
