"What do you think, Roger?" 

You were in the middle of discussing the plan of introducing Jennette to Claude and Athanasia. Everything was going to happen the way it did in the novel, with Jennette being introduced during the Debutante, but this time, you had hope that Athanasia wouldn't be overshadowed by Jennette.

With how much Claude doted on her, it was impossible for her to be pushed aside. Unlike the novel, she was loved this time, and you hoped that would remain even if Jennette were to make her appearance.

Your only problem would be predicting how Claude reacts to Jennette.

"Everything will proceed as planned," Roger nodded his head after listening to your plan, "Jennette de Alger Obelia will make her appearance not long from now on the day of the Debutante."

The day where Jennette reunites with her family... The debutante. 

"And Ijekiel..." Roger spoke. He placed a hand under his chin as a thoughtful expression went up his face, "... I'll try to suggest taking him as the escort for Princess Athanasia."

You froze.

What? Why?

Jennette was meant to attend it with Ijekiel as her partner. That was how it went down in the novel. If Roger took away Ijekiel, the only boy her age she's ever interacted with, who will Jennette be left with?

Athanasia may be favored by the Emperor, but Jennette was the protagonist of this world.

You frowned.

You should've killed her that day—

You winced, trying to push back the thought immediately. Thoughts of trying to harm Athanasia only worsened ever since the first time you were possessed by the plot. 

Athanasia was an innocent child. You held nothing against her, and you had zero intent to hurt her — especially now that you've talked it out with Claude.

"Who will attend with Jennette then?" you frowned, "She doesn't have any other cousin or brother. And besides, Claude would never agree to having the Princess attend—"

"What?" Roger cut you off after hearing a specific word in your statement, "You might be feeling distressed, but did you just refer to His Majesty by his name?"
