The vacation at the cabin is going great so far. In the past, I preferred being alone, but having Hyunjin around, occupying up my mind (and bed) is nice. So, Max and I decided to take him on a hike and show him all the magic of this place.

- Today we'll go up on that trail, and you'll see, it's a gorgeous view from the top.

- From where? That top up there??

- Yeah, it's just a short hike.

He suspiciously frowned at us, but then grabbed his bag and joined us. Max took the lead to ensure the path was clear, safe from falling leaves or, God forbid, squirrels, so we could follow him without any fear. From time to time, he'd check on us and impatiently nudge us forward.

We arrived at the top just on time to see the perfect sunset and share a cup of black tea with bourbon, my specialty.

The return was more difficult, as the darkness quickly caught up with us. Just as we reached the cabin, the lamp completely died, and we welcomed the warm living room.

I don't know how many photos and videos he took during the hike, I'm just surprised he didn't lose his phone along the way. We had to stop a hundred times because he just had to catch that perfect moment, the bird on a branch, the sun glow on the grass, the stream by the road, and of course - Max the protector.

Hyunjin told me he'd use these photos later for the story he's been working on.
The story is about a warrior who's fighting a war in the 19th century. One night, the warrior's entire unit gets surrounded by enemies and killed. He wants to avenge his friends, and mercilessly destroys everyone in his path, including the general who sent the unit into the battle knowing they didn't have a chance.
While fleeing from the army, the warrior ends up in a magical forest. He's doing everything he can to survive, not even knowing if the war is over. The only thing he has for protection is a shield that a young forest goddess left for him while he was sleeping. She's been secretly watching over and helping him, but at her own expense, as gods are not allowed to help humans or interfere with their destiny. Because of her act of kindness, she loses her divine powers and gods cast her out of the palace.
The warrior finds her nearly frozen and helps her stay alive. He recognizes her face which is carved on his shield and wonders if she might be a princess.
They continue their journey together even though they don't understand each other and have to create their own language. They fight their enemies side by side, because she's a fighter too. Through all the battles and challenges they overcome, they fall in love. Secretly, they are both afraid that loving the other is selfish.
He thinks that a princess couldn't be with someone like him, but he loves her anyway and protects her from everything. Meanwhile, she could help him return to the world of living, but doing so would mean she'd never see him again.

If that was a movie, I'd kill for the warrior part.

- Do you just make the images or do you write the story too?

- In this case, I do both. This is my passion project. Most of the time, I make characters for companies that hire my art skills and they pretty much tell me what to do. It's always the same five or six type of stories or characters. There are not many original ideas any more. But this story is just mine. It doesn't pay bills and I don't want to sell it. One day, who knows, maybe I publish it.

- Can I see your work?

He pulls out a tablet from his bag and I shiver thinking he just let that tablet roam in his cloth bag without any protection.

His drawings are majestic. Powerful, dark, a bit abstract and not perfect.

I learn that his customers prefer flawless characters; beautiful, strong, invincible. But he doesn't like that because life is not perfect and nobody is perfect. So he sneaks in a flaw here and there, as his signature mark. Sometimes he doesn't even tell them where the flaw is.

After all the walking and breathing the fresh, unpolluted air, we wash the nature off of our bodies, eat, and end up falling asleep in front of the fireplace. In a middle of the night, the fire goes off and Max snuggles close to keep us warm.

I know I'm falling for this guy, but I can't help it. It's like a free fall from a great height into the lake. I'm already falling, there's no way to stop that and go back.

The way Max looks at me, with compassion, tells me that the fall will be hard and painful. So, if I'm going to get hurt anyway, at least I can enjoy what we have now.

I get up to add more wood in the fireplace. Max helps me carry a few smaller logs and we make sure the fire lasts long enough.
Hyunjin is not bothered at all with our activity, he's deep asleep. I lie down next to him and kiss the lips that make the soft snoring sound. I want to steal that sound with my lips and save it in my memory.

His eyes stay closed and his body doesn't move, but his lips pout a little like he asks for more. I hug his bottom lip with my lips and stay like that. I kiss the lips, the warm cheek, the nose, the bridge of the nose, the corner of his eye, every part of him is kissable.

- Kiss me. - he asks, and I'm back on the softest lips ever. He swallows my tongue and we enter another dimension where the only purpose of my existence, the reason I was put on earth, is to give him pleasure.
As a reward for my love, I get to see him in such erotic state it hurts. Am I enjoying this, or am I torturing myself?

I admire something beautiful that is not really mine. Would the life be easier if I had never seen him? If I had lived without knowing he existed? If I didn't know how he looks when his eyes get all dreamy? If I had just said goodbye at that hotel and never offered to take him on this trip?

Fuck it. This is better!

I kiss the neck and nibble on his skin. I'm not the guy who leaves hickeys. I never did it to anyone. Why do I want to suck the blood out of him now, is he turning me into some kind of beast?

We continue our long make out session without taking clothes off. Without even touching bodies. It's just a little kissing session, there's nothing wrong with that. What we did last night was pretty wild, and we can't do that every night.

Can we?

I start slowing down with kisses to let him sleep. Night is for sleeping.
I should let our bodies rest.

- Give me more.

That sentence just came out of his mouth. I heard it.
It was quiet though.

- Are you sure?

- Yes. I want more.
