Maruca
"Biana!" Keefe finished after his dramatic pause.
Biana sighed. "Alright, truth."
"No, no, I have to say it. So, Biana, truth or dare?" Keefe smiled that annoyingly conspiratorial smile of his.
Another sigh. "As I said, truth."
Keefe smirked. "Wrong answer." Maruca gave a sigh of her own. Dare couldn't have been better than whatever truth he's about to spring.
"Who's your crush?"
Biana tensed. Maruca made the assumption that the rest of the night would be similar to this; the embarrassing truths, ridiculous dares, that sort of thing. And while it was amusing watching everyone else get all embarrassed and shy, Maruca did not want it happening to her.
I'll be fine. She thought to herself. I don't like anyone, anyways.
Lying to herself didn't make the truth any less real.
Biana was hesitating, struggling to answer.
Keefe looked at her expectantly, until Biana finally asked, "Do I have to tell the group?! Can I just tell Keefe?"
Keefe put his hand on his chin in mock thoughtfulness, then answered, "Yeah, sure. Come over here." Keefe waved Biana over to a far corner of the library, where Biana whispered her answer in Keefe's ear. Maruca saw Keefe smile slightly, then the two walked back to the group.
Immediately, Marella asked, "Who was it?!"
Keefe shook his head. "Sorry. Can't."
Marella sighed, but let it go.
Biana brightened a bit as she said, "My turn!"
She looked around the group, scanning everyone's faces. Maruca shrunk back, dreading being picked, but was passed over by Biana's watchful eye. Instead, Biana's gaze landed on Sophie.
Marella
Marella smiled. Sophie was in for a treat, no matter what she picked. After almost 3 years of being best friends with Biana, and doing these sorts of things, Marella knew what was going to happen. If Sophie picked truth, Biana would ask for something embarrassing and interesting. If Sophie picked dare, she was almost guaranteed to be given a makeover.
Sophie, seeing what was coming, sighed and said, "Dare."
Right on cue, Biana blurted, "Makeover time!"
She sprung up and grabbed Sophie's arm, almost hitting Wylie in the process.
"Sorry!" Biana replied, but she was already halfway out the library door, Sophie in tow.
Marella, Linh, and Maruca made to follow. A voice behind them asked, "Can I come too?"
It was Stina, looking peculiarly hopeful. Marella hesitated, but Linh immediately said, "Of course!"
Linh was always much nicer than Marella. It was one of the things she loved about her.
Would Marella ever say that? No. But there was no harm in thinking it.
The girls got to Biana's room, where Sophie was already sitting in a chair, makeup supplies spread out on a table in front of her. Biana seemed to be contemplating what to do, while Sophie sat, grumbling about one thing or another.
Linh, Maruca, and Marella rushed to Sophie's side, while Stina went to the bed and sat down, watching the events unfold.
Linh said, "I'll wash her hair!" as Maruca said, "Hairstyle!"
