Fitz heard the doorbell ring. Do elves have doorbells?
"I'll get it!" Biana yelled as she dashed in front of Fitz's open doorway, almost knocking him down in the process.
"Hey, watch it!" He yelled. But Biana was already downstairs, racing towards the front door.
Fitz heard her say, "Hey, Sophie! Come in, you're the first one here."
Suddenly, Fitz had the urge to run downstairs as Biana had, towards Sophie. But he restrained himself.
It had been becoming harder and harder these last few months to conceal Fitz's true feelings from Sophie. He flirted with her, sure, but had still been waiting for the right moment to get it all out. This sleepover would be the perfect opportunity.
At least, in his head.
Somehow, Fitz knew that something was bound to go wrong. But whatever happened, nothing would stop Fitz from telling Sophie how he felt today. Even if he had to cheat in every single game; if had to drag Sophie out of the room just to talk to her; then so be it. This was happening.
"Fitz!" Biana yelled from downstairs. "Come on! Everyone's arriving!"
Fitz began his descent down the stairs. Anticipating his big reveal, Fitz had put on a nice-but-not-too-nice outfit that would impress Sophie but not look too fancy.
As he descended, the group got their first look at Fitz's outfit.
Apparently, he hadn't been as subtle as he'd first thought.
