"I'm glad we're going public."
Brax placed a hand on her thigh as Lia drove them to the track.
"Well we've been together a couple months now. As long as we don't divulge too many details I don't think it'll be too much of a hassle. At least, that's what Graham says."
Lia flashed a smile at him as she pulled up to the track. Paparazzi were already waiting for her as she turned off the car. Brax got out first, greeting the cameras with a charming grin as he made his way to her door. He opened it for her and the flashes went crazy.
The two went hand in hand towards the paddock. Lia greeted everyone she passed, including Toto Wolff and Lewis.
It was starting to rain a little so Brax pulled out an umbrella and held it over the both of them. Graham greeted them at hospitality and ushered them in.
"We've got a team meeting in a few minutes."
Lia nodded and turned towards her boyfriend. She said she'd meet him afterwards and kissed his cheek before following her manager.
She walked into the team room and immediately makes eye contact with Lando. He briefly smiled and glanced her over before looking down at his hands.
"Ready to race?"
He weakly nodded but didn't voice his thoughts. She furrowed her brows but didn't have the chance to inquire since the rest of the team sat down around them.
"So it looks like this is about as much rain as we're supposed to get. Race is still planned to start on time," Zak informed, "We just have to watch the tires and keep up the strategy."
They kept talking about strategy and conditions for a few more minutes before moving on to media.
"Lia, obviously with Brax here you're gonna get a couple of questions about that. You can either answer or shut it down-just keep it short and sweet," Graham instructed. She nodded in agreement but got distracted by Lando shifting in his seat.
"Both of you have taken the third row on the grid so if they ask you about competing each other-"
"We just say we do what's best for the team," Lando finished. They both made it clear they understood. The team wrapped up the meeting and scurried out. Lia attempted to catch Lando but he disappeared too quick.
She sighed and made her way out to Brax. He was speaking with Daniel outside hospitality. Both men greeted her as she was pulled into her boyfriend's side.
"Lia, you know it's dangerous to bring a better looking man than me out here. You're lucky he's a funny guy," Daniel joked.
They all laughed and she assured him he wouldn't be a threat. The men made their farewells and the drivers wished each other luck before all parties went to their respective areas.
Brax sat in her drivers room as he waited for her to change.
"Be careful today," he pleaded, "I don't want to spend our time together this weekend in a doctor's office."
She laughed and slipped on her shirt.
"No promises."
She pulled the legs of her race suit on and tied the sleeves around her waist. She stepped forward to stand between his legs where he sat at the couch. He grinned and placed his hands on her hips, his eyes shining as he looked up at her.
"There's no need to worry. They said the rain isn't going to last long. It'll be clear in no time."
She leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his lips. His hand briefly caressed her cheek before pulling away.
