"I'll have to move."Everyone let out a horrified "What?"
"I said I'll have to move to Seoul for the job. Plus it is still in just another city.", Yeseul replied monotonously. Her sister said, "Oh," in a tone that made it difficult to tell if she was happy or sad. She questioned her lifeless family, who appeared to have been struck by lightning, "So, are you guys fine with it?" Her father's expressions softened after a while, and he said, "Of course, my little girl. We could not be happier. It was your dream job after all."
She asked her sister, teasing her in an attempt to gauge her response, "Yeah, what about you adopted girl?" "Oh, me?" she shot back, sounding more like a question. "Yes, you? She remarked, "I do not think we adopted any other child after all."
What a sassy bitch I am. Yeseul thought.
"You had been complaining about that job every day, so I am really happy. She exclaimed, at last, you got it!" Hyunjoo said with annoyance.
At the moment, Yeseul was seated around the dining table with her family, indulging in the delectable and tantalizing food her mother had prepared.
"How is the food? Is the salt enough?", Hyebin asked and Yeseul replied, "Yes, mum it is very tasty. Now stop overthinking and eat your food.", her voice came out because she had entirely stuffed her mouth with food, making her cheeks resemble a squirrel's.
"Hey, you do not have a lot of winterwear or work outfits, right?" asked Hyunjoo, to which Yeseul nodded.
"It seems like you will need to go shopping, then," Suyeong remarked. "Really, Oh my fuc-God? Thank you so much, papa!" she exclaimed, jumping with joy.
Following a hearty meal, she headed to her room, where she curled up on her bed and read until two or three in the morning.
-
Soon after waking up the following morning, Yeseul purchased her tickets to Seoul. Her job was scheduled to begin on June 15th, but she decided to travel there a few days early to explore the city.
'Hello, Ms. Song,
Good morning.
Your flight to Seoul is scheduled on 15 June, at 0600 hours.
Hope you have a safe flight, Indigo Airlines.', her ticket read."Why in the hell does my flight have to leave at six in the morning? Why is it not possible for it to be at night? Fucking piece of shit!", she cursed aloud.
Then it dawned on her that she needed to get shopping today. With great enthusiasm, Yeseul descended the stairs and proceeded towards the kitchen, hopping prettily with every step.
"Mum, when are we going shopping?", she asked her mother excitedly.
"It is morning, you annoying girl. Now go. Shoo. Let me cook", Hyebin replied, not paying attention to her.
"Okay, whatever, I'll go and find some ideas for the clothes on Pinterest.", she said with sparkling eyes.
-
Yeseul was in her room listening to music while scrolling, when she heard a faint knock on the door of her room. She took out her earphones, rather annoyed as her music had gotten interuppted, and went towars the door to open it only to find her not-actually-adopted sister, Hyunjoo.
"What is it?" she asked, her voice and face displaying her annoyance.
"Don't you wanna go shopping? Get ready. And come downstairs afterwards.", Hyunjoo responded sassily and went.
Yeseul jumped and clapped her hands before heading to her closet to put on some clothes, smiling from ear to ear.
-
Yeseul quickly put on a pair of pants and an oversized shirt, then pulled her long hair back into a ponytail. She gave herself a quick kiss, grabbed her phone and wallet, and made her way downstairs after taking one last glance in the mirror.
She proceeded to her mother's room to see if she was prepared. "Mum, hurry up and get ready! She complained impatiently, "We are already running late."
"Let's go. Come on. Idiot.", Hyebin said, coming out of her room, pushing her daughter towards the stairs.
Because of Yeseul's boundless enthusiasm, they met Hyunjoo on the stairs very quickly and headed for their car.
Yeseul sat in the backseat while Hyebin and Hyunjoo sat in the passenger seat.
After almost thirty minutes of driving, they finally reached the mall. Hyebin parked the car in the basement and the three idiots went inside the lift.
Yeseul pressed the button that led to the first floor and soon the elevator door opened with a 'ding' sound along with the obnoxious rambling of the speaker.
After arriving at the mall nearly three hours earlier, she spent what felt like twenty minutes exploring the first floor stores and making a lot of clothing purchases.
-
Exhausted and hungry, Yeseul and her family were sitting in a small but charming cafe after five hours of shopping.
The waiter, who appeared to be in his early 20s, said, "Hello, good evening, what would you like to order?"
Yeseul skimmed through the menu, her indecisive ass not being able to decide what to order. In the end, she decided to order a hot chocolate and a chocolate pastry.
"Two cappucinos, one hot chocolate for me and three chocolate pastries for us, please.", Hyebin said to the waiter.
"Is that all you would like, ma'am?"
"Yes, that will be all."
A while later, the waiter returned carrying their food, which he placed on the table.
"Enjoy your food!", he said.
"Thank you!", Hyunjoo replied.
-
After arriving home, they ate dinner, which they had picked up from a restaurant along the way.
Yeseul was trying on every item of clothing she had purchased today in her room because she needed to do a fashion show to show her father what she had brought. It annoyed her tremendously that her father would nearly always reply with a "hmm" or "fine."
Yeseul went downstairs to give her father a glimpse of her final ensemble. She exhaled a sigh of relief, changed into her nightgown, and fell asleep almost instantly because she was so tired from all the shopping.
