Maisarah pushed her tongue to the inside of her cheek as she ran her hands through her black hair, combing them to the back. It was obvious from the look on her face that she didn't like the sound of what Tengku Qayyum was saying. Maybe some other girl would keel from his sweet words but definitely not Maisarah. Maisarah had no intent in raising a household or to become queen.

"I don't want there to be any ties between us. I like being free. Besides, I don't deserve to become a queen. There are plenty other girls lining up for you. Why me? Because I'm ill-mannered, I need guidance to become a better person, is that it? Sorry to break it to you but I don't need any of that Tengku Qayyum!" Said Maisarah anger bubbling from her heart.

Tengku Qayyum could only shake his head as he smiled thinly. Even so, Tengku Qayyum hadn't uttered a word in response. Maybe he liked seeing how worked up Maisarah seemed to be as she declined the bond that was about to change their lives. In truth, Tengku Qayyum had not once bring up marriage in this kind of meetings but seeing Maisarah immediately made him think about it.

"I'm a rude and arrogant woman. I don't deny them. Everyone says I'm a princess who lacks respect and friendliness but what do I care? It's my life. I don't like arrangements. It's meaningless for me!"

"I don't know you and I don't want anything to do with you. I never asked for this to happen!", said Maisarah. Letting out her dissatisfaction of this meet-up.

When he felt like Maisarah was done saying her part, a smile carved its way on his lips as he laughed a little. Amused perhaps.

Tengku Qayyum pinched his nose as he exhaled a heavy sigh.
"I understand, Your Highness. From the look of Your Highness's face, one could already tell that you are not fond of this meeting but what could I do? In fact, I for once like this meeting. I'm able to grace myself with King Carran's princess's beautiful face with my very own eyes."

Maisarah looked at him, her eyes empty. Those words were meaningless.

"I admit, I'm delighted to be able to meet with you but it's not wrong to give me a chance to get to know you more, right? I'm interested to know who is this Crown Princess Maisarah Az-Zahra. We can put the marriage thing behind us. Let's just get to know each other."

Tengku Qayyum gave her a long look. His eyes softened. Tengku Qayyum slowly propped his chin in one of his hands. Wanting to see that cold face more clearly. By the name of The Almighty, Maisarah had succeeded capturing his heart on their very first meeting.

Though she comes with bitterness to her face, her beauty ceases to fade away.

"Why?", asked Tengku Qayyum, laughing a little.

"You have doubts about me? Do you think I'm like other guys out there? I assure you I'm not..."

"Stop", Maisarah cuts in. Her ears felt like they were about to fall off the more she listens to Tengku Qayyum. Oh please, her heart isn't even bothered by the slightest.

Tengku Qayyum raised an eyebrow. He leaned back on the chair. A leg crossing over the other as he placed both hands on his knee. A cocky smile on his face.

"You've fallen in love with me?", he teased. A good thing if Maisarah felt touched by his words. He could finally try winning the cold, stone-hearted heart of this tiger-like princess.

Why tiger you ask? Because she's fiesty like a tiger.

Maisarah scoffed. "In your dreams if you ever thought I would fall for you just from your words. It's getting old, Tengku Qayyum. Please don't act like you really need me. I'd rather live amongst the poorest of people than with someone like you!"

Tengku Qayyum was astonished. Impressed with Maisarah's wall of defence. This is what's been pulling him in. The higher Maisarah built her wall, the more Tengku Qayyum will actually try to climb over it.
