Maisarah froze on the spot. The world seemed to stop on its axis. Her eyes, unblinking as she looked at Tengku Qayyum's soft expression. Did Tengku Qayyum just propose to her? Her mind seemed to have shut down right this second.

Maisarah never thought he would actually propose to her. It was only a few seconds ago she was thrown away by Iskandar, now being proposed by another. All in one night. Something she didn't expect to happen, did happen.

She gulped down the dryness in her throat before letting go of Tengku Qayyum's grip on her. She didn't know how to answer. Eveything was moving too fast. Maisarah looked at Tengku Qayyum right in the eye. He seemed like she just threw him a brick. Maisarah blinked once.

What could she do?

Her heart belonged to Iskandar still.

"My heart is still with him," she said. If she had to be honest, Maisarah didn't want to marry Tengku Qayyum. She never did agree to accept him in her life. Even if he so far bowed like a gentleman he is, Maisarah would still refuse him.

Tengku Qayyum smiled, shaking his head. He turned towards the sea. His heart shrinking slowly after hearing Maisarah's answer. It made sense that she wouldn't accept his hand in marriage. The girl's still wallowing in sorrow after what happened.

"You're just wasting your time waiting for him, Mai. Isn't it better to accept someone who actually wants you for who you are?"

Maisarah glanced at his side profile. Her arms crossing against her chest. Observing him from the top of his head to the soles of his feet.

"What are you marrying me for? I'm not kind like other girls out there. There's a lot of nasty rumours about me and I admit that I'm a little arrogant at times. So, its better if you choose someone else. Someone more worthy to be your wife. Your family holds religion close to their heart. Do you think I deserve to even be a part of that?"

Tengku Qayyum pushed his tongue to the back of his teeth. Shaking his head as he listened to Maisarah. She shouldn't say things like that. Tengku Qayyum already realized from the start what a pain she is but now he's not thinking of any of that.

"Have you forgotten one important piece of information?", asked Tengku Qayyum all of a sudden.

Maisarah furrowed her eyebrows. "Forget what?"

Tengku Qayyum turned his head to look at a confused Maisarah, her eyebrows knitting together. "What you did to me the other day. I have to be responsible for it. What you accused of me the other day made you damage your own dignity. As well as the entire nation." Tengku Qayyum smiled wryly.

"So, even if you do refuse, you'll still be my wife in the end, Maisarah. My proposal was only so I could hear it from you even though I did see that rejection coming. Princess, your answer to my proposal was only yes or yes."

Tengku Qayyum's smiled from ear to ear, his eyes disappearing from smiling too wide. Handsome yet he was teasing Maisarah who must have thought it was all a sham. Irritating ain't it?

Maisarah gaped her mouth opened. Unbelievable. So, Tengku Qayyum did it all on purpose? Her chest heaved rapidly like a tidal wave. She was so annoyed right now. He's definitely asking for an early death. Then she wouldn't have to embarrass herself to that extent. What a waste of time!

"I hate you!", she shouted as she took off her slipper before hurling it at Tengku Qayyum. A shocked expression had replaced the smile on Tengku Qayyum's face as he quickly ran away from Maisarah's rampage. Not that he was scared, no, but he was laughing loudly instead because Maisarah actually fell for it.

"I'll never marry you! Even if my life depended on it, I'll never ever marry you!", she screamed as she chased Tengku Qayyum. Her hand gripping her slipper high in the air. She's so going to smack his head so hard the second she gets him.
