Lady Whistledown
Dearest gentle reader, it is often said that those who marry in haste must repent at leisure, a sentiment that is clearly shared by Miss Daphne Bridgerton, who has apparently rejected not one, not two, but three proposals already this week. Some believe she is showing admirable forethought in her deliberations, but I would venture a different conjecture, that she, like this author, is still waiting on the only suitor of note. On another note the Ruby of the season Miss Dixon has also received proposals that she has rejected. The question that this author has is who is she waiting for? Maybe one of the Bridgerton boys.
Rosie was having tea with her parents while they read lady Whistledown.
"Honestly what is it with lady Whistledown obsession with me and Daphne. I wish to see one day were I am not being the talk of the ton" Rosie said falling on the couch
"Rosy sit properly. You not know who might come in and see" lady Dixon said
"Rosie, rather you like it or not you are the Ruby of the season. Everyone will want to know what you are doing. Which is why I need to talk to you" lord Dixon said seriously and facing Rosie
Rosie got up as she has never heard her dad speak this way unless she is in trouble
"Two nights ago I saw you and Mr. Benedict sneaking out and doing who knows what." He said with an angry face "look Rosie you know I trust you and I know that this was not the way you wanted to meet your one but you can't be sneaking out. People will see and say that you are now ineligible" he said with a sad face
"Father, you know I am not doing anything wrong right?" Rosie asked "you trust me enough to make the right decisions right?"
"Of course but what I am saying is that if you do get caught he will have to marry you. Do you understand" Rosie father said seriously
"I am sure that if that were to happen Benedict will take responsibility. Father" Rosie said with a small smile
"Well then, just be careful please"
"I will" Rosie said hugging her mom and dad
Suddenly Olivia comes in with a letter
"A letter for Rosie" Olivia said giving me the letter
"Who is it from?" Rosie mother asked
"It's from Anthony" Rosie replied with a confused face
She opened the letter and it was an invitation to tea this afternoon with the Bridgerton family
"It an invitation for tea" Rosie said looking at the name over and over
Anthony has never sent Rosie a letter. In fact the only time he had invited her anywhere was because his mother asked. But his mother has asked for tea multiple times before. So this means he really wants to talk to her. And this made her nervous because if her father saw her and Benedict. What's to say that Anthony did not.
