Lia's PoV-
I did t go to school next day. My back ached and burned like hell. I thought I'd be used to it but I was wrong. When I went to the school the other day my hand was wrapped so I couldn't take the notes. Ariana offered to help but she doesn't have the habit of taking notes so I declined. I will just have to write it on my own when my hand is good.

I saw Damien pass me while going to his seat. I ignored him because I couldn't find the courage to face him after our last encounter where I had shown a piece of vulnerability within me to him. I was scared of my dad when he became aggressive. That's one thing that I don't want anyone to know. Not even Ariana.

I knew Damien was staring at me during the class but I didn't want to accept. I turned but found him staring straight at me. I was startled for a moment but quickly regained my emotions and turned back. Why was he not paying attention? Doesn't he want to pass this class? He never even attends Chemistry class but it's not his fault that the teacher always wants to throw taunts and irritate the hell out of him. Wait! Why am I defending this man? He is the one who got me in this trouble.

I don't know why men like violence so much. Why do they need to fight just to get loose?

I was in the gym trying to catch some sleep when the door burst open. It was Sebastian . He looked angry for some reason. He glanced at me and went to the opposite direction. I noticed blood pouring from the corner of his lip and a huge cut on his arm. Looks like he just fought with someone. See, it proved my point. Men indeed like violence. Just then I got a text from Ariana telling me to meet her near the library. I got up and walked towards Seb.

"Here you'll need this." I said handing him a band-aid.

"No thanks. I can manage." He said stubbornly.

"I know you wanna act all tough and shit but just take this and apply it on your wound." I said taking his hand and placing the band-aid in his palm.

"I said I could manage."

"And I said stop acting like you're strong when both you and I know that you need it." He smiled and I retreated backwards, exiting the gym.

I saw Ariana waiting beside the library. She looked kid of excited?

"So you know Rustin? The guy I have a crush on?"

"Duhhhh! Everyone knows."

"So yeah! He's throwing a party and we are going."

"Ughhh! You know I hate parties."

"Pretty please? You know I like him soooooo muchhhhhh! Pleaseee?" She looked at me with her innocent eyes which no one can deny.

"Stop it with your eyes."

"So you're coming right?!"

"Fine!" I groaned.

She jumped hugging me. "Thank you thank you thank you!" I hissed. Because the wounds were still hurting.

"Okay now back off. You smell." I cringed.

"Fuck off."

We went towards the exit.

"When's the party?"

"Tomorrow."

"What?! Tomorrow?" I have to go to the family dinner tomorrow.

"Listen, I can't come tomorrow. I have to attend this family dinner with my parents."

"Please, can't you ditch it? Or sneak out? That would be thrilling."

"You know I can't."

"Please? Just this once. It's Rustin!"

"Okay! I'll see what I can do."

She was so excited. I couldn't crush it.

Damien's PoV-
Detention was as always boring. No drama, nothing. I was standing at my locker when Seb came to me.

"You need to minimise your fights with Marco. If your dad finds out, the outcome won't be good."

"Oh please stop it. Stop handing my business."

"You think I'm handling your business? Well good to know that's what you think about me."

"You know what I meant." I said frustratedly.

"No I don't."

"Seb, please. Not now."

"It's always 'not now' for you. I've been trying to talk to you about this since like forever. And whatever stupid challenge you've accepted about Lia, please stop. You're not like this."

"You don't know how I'm like."

"I've known you since you were a kid."

"Seb stop."

"No I won't. You need to hear this. You need to know," And that's when I did it. I punched him. He was taken  aback and his arm scratched with the open locker door.

"Thank you for showing me what you actually think of me." And with that he retreated back.

"Listen Seb," But I knew I fucked up. Really bad.

I looked into my locker and saw an invitation. It was from Rustin. He was throwing a party tomorrow night. Great! Just what I need.

I exited the school and went straight home.

I reached home and the first person I see is dad sitting on the couch reading news.

"You're early." He said without looking up.

"The class got canceled." I made my way towards the stairs.

"There's a shipment you need to pick tomorrow afternoon around 4."

"Text me the address and I'll be there."

"Listen Damien, it's the shipment. You can't afford any mishaps."

"It's always the same thing." I mumbled making sure he didn't hear and went upstairs.

I kept my bag at its place and opened my diary.

I saw her today. Her hand was hurt. She had it bandaged. We had chemistry together and she couldn't write her notes. So I decided to attend all the chemistry classes and other classes that we share together, so that I could take notes for her, till she recovers. I wouldn't want her to fail the class.

I also noticed something different today. She totally ignored me. Last time we talked I know I crossed some boundaries but I didn't think she'd react this way. She told she'll face consequences if she didn't write the notes ten times. I want to - no, need to - know what were the consequences. I couldn't help but think her injury was because of  me. What could've happened that she had to skip school when she never skips school.

I will ask her tomorrow when I meet her.

-Damien
