The weeks turned into months, and the once inseparable pair, Tanya and Samrath, drifted further apart. Samrath buried himself in preparing for his college entrance exams, focusing on his future. Tanya, meanwhile, threw herself into her studies and extracurricular activities, determined to excel despite the turmoil in her heart.
As the end of the school year approached, the results of the college entrance exams were announced. Samrath had scored remarkably high, earning a coveted spot at a top college in Gujarat. The news spread quickly through the school, and while it was a moment of pride for many, it also solidified the rumors about his and Tanya's breakup.
On his last day at school, Samrath walked through the halls with a heavy heart. His acceptance to a prestigious college was supposed to be a joyous occasion, but it felt hollow. He knew leaving without saying goodbye to Tanya would hurt her, but he couldn't bring himself to face her after everything that had happened.
Instead, he slipped out quietly, leaving behind memories and an unspoken farewell. He carried with him the weight of their lost relationship and the pain of their unresolved feelings.
Tanya found out about Samrath's departure through the school grapevine. The news hit her like a punch to the gut. She sat in the library, staring blankly at her textbooks, tears blurring the words on the pages. Hiya, ever the supportive friend, found her there, her own heart aching for her best friend.
"Tanya," Hiya said softly, sitting down beside her. "I heard about Samrath. Are you okay?"
Tanya shook her head, unable to speak as the tears streamed down her face. Hiya wrapped her arms around her, offering silent comfort.
"He left without saying goodbye," Tanya whispered finally, her voice breaking. "How could he do that?"
Hiya held her tighter. "I'm so sorry, Tanya. He should have said something. It's not fair to you."
Tanya wiped her tears and took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I thought I was getting better, you know? But now it feels like it's all falling apart again."
"You're strong, Tanya," Hiya said gently. "You've been doing so well. You're the top student in our class. You've achieved so much despite everything."
Tanya nodded, though her heart still ached. "I just wish things were different."
As the school year continued, Tanya threw herself even more into her studies and extracurriculars. She became the ace of the school, her achievements earning her respect and admiration from both students and teachers. She excelled in academics, sports, and every club she joined, her drive fueled by the pain of her breakup and Samrath's departure.
Yet, despite her outward success, there were moments when the pain became too much to bear. During those times, Hiya was always there, a steadfast friend offering comfort and support. One evening, after a particularly grueling day of classes and practice, Tanya found herself overwhelmed with memories of Samrath. She excused herself from the dinner table, escaping to her room before the tears could fall.
Hiya followed her, knocking gently on her door. "Tanya, can I come in?"
"Yeah," Tanya's voice was barely a whisper.
Hiya entered and found Tanya curled up on her bed, silent tears streaming down her face. Without a word, Hiya sat beside her, holding her hand.
"I miss him," Tanya admitted, her voice choked with emotion. "I know it's been months, but it still hurts so much."
"I know you do," Hiya said softly. "It's okay to miss him, Tanya. It's okay to feel hurt."
"I just don't understand why he didn't say goodbye," Tanya continued, her frustration and sorrow spilling out. "Did I mean so little to him?"
"Of course not," Hiya reassured her. "I think he was just scared. Maybe he thought it would be easier for both of you this way, but he was wrong."
Tanya sighed, wiping her tears. "I hate feeling like this, Hiya. I hate that he still has this power over me."
"It's going to take time," Hiya said gently. "But you're strong, and you'll get through this. You've already come so far."
