The Library

As midnight was getting closer I grew more and more nervous. I don't know why, maybe it wasn't fear maybe it was excitement?

I turned my closet inside out to find the clothes that I wanted. I finally picked out a casual black dress and left my room.

The problem was that I didn't know where the library was..

I walked around slowly trying not to make any noise so that I don't wake up my grandparents.
I walked around a long hallway wondering which one of these doors lead to the library. Suddenly I heard a small chuckle

"Someone looks a little lost"

I turned to see who it is and there he was. Jeongin was leaning against a door frame. My face flushed a light pink colour as I walked towards him

"It's right here love" he said. Pushing the door behind him to reveal a big library. My jaw dropped how did my grandparents never told me about this. Slowly stepping into the room, I saw shelves upon shelves of books. Jeongin watched me get completely mesmerised, a gentle smile appeared on his face.

I walked around the library completely clueless that Jeongin has been walking with me this whole entire time he was right behind me.

"Enjoying yourself?" He teased, his voice sounded low and playful. I turned, surprised to find him so close. His eyes sparkled with amusement.

"I didn't even notice you were there" I admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Clearly" he said with a smirk. "You were so entranced by the books, you forgot about me."

I bit my lip, trying to hide my smile.
"Well it is an amazing library" I said defensively, but my voice lacked conviction.

Jeongin stepped closer, closing the gap between us "it is" he agreed, "but not nearly as captivating as watching you explore it"

His words made my heart skip a beat. I looked up at him, our faces were now inches apart.
"You know, if you keep sneaking up on me like that, I might start ignoring you on purpose."

Jeongin chuckled softly "I doubt that" he whispered, leaning in slightly
"you couldn't ignore me even if you tried"

And he was right. Over the week my mind has been consumed by him so much that it started to feel like he has become a part of me. Even if he wasn't with me, my mind kept racing back to him.
Even mundane tasks became imbued with a sense of excitement and anticipation, knowing that any moment, I might see him again.

Jeongin's gaze held mine.  "You look like you're thinking about something," he murmured, his voice low and teasing.

I snapped out of my trance and took a deep breath, the air between us humming with tension. "Maybe I am," I replied, feeling a rush of boldness. "Maybe I'm thinking about how you always seem to appear out of nowhere."

He laughed softly, a sound that sent a pleasant shiver down my spine. "I like to keep you on your toes," he said, his fingers lightly brushing against mine. "But I promise, it's only because I can't seem to stay away."

My heart fluttered at his words, and I felt a warmth spread through me that had nothing to do with the library's cozy ambiance. "Well, I guess I'll just have to get used to it," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Jeongin's smile softened, and he took my hand, his touch gentle yet firm. "Or maybe," he said, "you'll find you don't mind it at all."

As we stood there, surrounded by shelves filled with stories of all kinds, I realized that my own story had taken an unexpected turn. One that I was eager to explore, page by page, with him by my side.

"Jeongin," I said, as his fingers played with mine.
"Yes, Y/N?" he replied, looking back at me.

"Why do I never see you during the daytime?"

"Why, do you miss me that much, huh?" he teased, and let out a light giggle.

"Come on, seriously," I insisted.

He hesitated for a moment, then sighed.
"I can't. The sunlight weakens me, drains my energy."

I stared at him, processing his words. A mix of concern filled me. "Does it hurt you? Being in the sun, I mean." my voice barely above a whisper.

He gave a small, reassuring smile. "It's not painful, just... exhausting. It's why I prefer the night."

I squeezed his hand, trying to offer some comfort. "I guess that makes us kind of like opposites. But maybe that's not such a bad thing."

Jeongin's eyes softened as he looked at me. "Maybe it's what makes us fit together so well."

A long pause followed after that. Both of us smiling like idiots.

"Come on, it's getting late. Let me take you to bed," he said softly, raising his hand to caress my cheek.

"No," I replied, not wanting to leave him already. "Can't I just stay a little longer? I'll sleep in tomorrow."

Jeongin sighed, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "You know that's not a good idea."

"But I miss you during the day," I confessed, my voice filled with longing. "I really wish you could be there with me."

He pulled me into a hug, his eyes full of understanding and a sadness. "I know," he whispered, his breath warm against my skin.
"I wish I could too. But for now, let's make the most of the moments we have."

With that, he wrapped his arms around me, holding me tightly as if to make up for all the lost time.
