AUTHOR'S POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The hustling bustling of this busy city was something she had never seen before. The pollution had already destroyed her hair and face and on the top of all, the heat was killing her. However, the air conditioner was soothing her skin now.
Some people were sitting with their earphones plugged in while some were typing continuously on their laptops.
Everyone was busy doing their own things. No one was talking to each other. There was a weird silence in the atmosphere.
Sighing disappointedly, she moved her head and looked outside the large glass window. The city view was no doubt, enchanting. A huge idol of Lord Hanuman was visible from afar making her eyes shine and an amusing smile appeared on her lips.
"Wow!"
"You are here for the first time, beta."
She flinched slightly hearing the voice. The girl didn't notice when this oman came and sat beside her.
The man smiled seeing the innocence in the eyes of this young girl. After years, he was seeing such an innocent girl.
"Yes." She smiled softly.
Sitara noticed the man was holding a black bag, probably going to his office. He looked genuine and was same as her father's age.
"Studies?" The man asked further.
"Yes. I got admission in P.V. university." Sitara replied with a grin on her face.
Hailing from a small town, Solan, she always dreamt of studying in Delhi. The capital of India and the city of heartthrobs.
"That's really nice. Congratulations. Which course?"
"English literature, uncle." The man nodded.
"What's your name?"
"Sitara."
The name brought a smile on that man's face.
An announcement was made and she heard the name of her station. A huge sigh left her mouth as she started taking out her bag from underneath the seat.
"Didn't like metro much?" The man asked.
Sitara smiled lightly shaking her head.
"It's nice....but the buses in my Solan are better."
The man chuckled. He really liked the girl. He always wished for a daughter like her. Too bad, god never gave him and his wife any child.
"Himachal, I see. I and my wife had a trip to Shimla last year. Great place, I must say."
A bright smile appeared on Sitara's face. She loves when someone compliments her city and state. She feels proud.
"It is."
The train finally stopped and people gathered around the gate soon.
"It was really nice talking to you, uncle. Have a nice day." She smiled standing up from her seat.
"Likewise, beta and be safe. God bless you." The old man placed his hand on her head and gave her his blessings.
This was the first time someone treated her nicely from the day she came to Delhi.
The act made her emotional.
Waving her hand, she went to the gate.
The man waved back at her as she turned around after getting off the train.
