"I am missing my home."
He sighed inwardly hearing her answer. She was looking down and sadness was clearly etched on her face. His eyes noticed her fingers unrooting the grass and a sad pout was formed on her face.
"Ohh...I thought something happened." Kabir chuckled lightly shaking his head.
Sitara felt bad for lying to him. Although, she was not entirely lying. Indeed, she was missing her home, her parents but the sadness on her face was not because of that. She didn't want to involve him in this matter.
Ekaksh has already hurt him without any reason. Kabir is an innocent soul and it would be better if he stays out of this mess.
"No...it's just that." She muttered.
"Are you not liking it here?" He asked shifting a bit closer to her which went unnoticed by her.
Her sweet fragrance invaded his senses as it got mixed with the air they were breathing in. Oh, how peaceful and sweet it was.
"I am..but I still miss my home. There is nothing in this whole world which can fulfil the void of being far from your parents. From your home." She explained truthfully.
Her eyes got filled with tears remembering the face of her parents. Her house, a small house built in the valley, surrounded by mountains and rivers.
Kabir was puzzled hearing her words. He couldn't digest the fact that she was missing her home. Home is not a safe place, is it? He would rather call his own a rented room.
Sitara frowned looking at his expressions. He was looking at the tree in front of them with a confused face.
"What? Don't you miss yours?" She asked.
Sitara is genuinely interested knowing his background. About his parents, his siblings anything. But the problem is that, he never mentions about them or even about his friends.
Kabir smiled looking down. Her question was not ridiculous, it was a question he has been asking himself since ages.
Does he miss his home?
"No." He replied looking back at her. "I don't have a home." Sitara was taken aback hearing him. The sadness pooling in his eyes, the way those words slipped out of his mouth. She understood something is wrong.
She didn't ask anything as it is his personal matter and it didn't seem like he wanted to share it with her.
"Just tell me whenever you feel like." She simply stated placing her hand over his and giving it a light squeeze.
He felt those sparks again. This time, even more than earlier. Her touch ignited a fire inside him. His whole body turned hot feeling her soft touch. The thing which made him even more amused and attracted towards her, was her smile.
The smile on her face and the look of assurance in her eyes told him everything. That he is safe and can tell her everything whenever he feels like.
"Okay." Kabir nodded returning her smile.
The stormy wind made the weather more pleasant. People started rushing to find a shelter as heavy rain was approaching the city. Sitara and Kabir too got off from the ground and took their bags.
