Ko Bitna couldn't have been more bored. Sitting in the huge hall, waiting for the principal to stop yapping seemed like a difficult task for her, one that she would've enjoyed if one of her closest friends had been here. But Jaei was still in the US, packing to come home to Seoul, and the other was, well, dead.Weirdly enough, Bitna was the only one of the elites who still had everyday contact with Jaei. Sure, the two were best friends, but Kim Rian was Jaei's boyfriend, and the two hadn't spoken since Jaei left for the US.
Since her other closest friend died, someone had to take his place. And that someone just so happened to be his brother, Kang Ha. The boy gave a small speech, and Bitna immediately understood that she'd have to teach him the Jooshin ways.
Being the third richest kid at the school, it was expected of her to be the third one to stand up and leave the hallway, which she did, but waited outside until most of the students left the hall.
Peeking inside, the girl noticed Kang Ha talking to some girls, but Bitna couldn't tell who they were because their backs were turned her way.
She took a few steps inside before stopping. There was no reason to rush the girls in whatever they were doing, and by the looks of it, they asked for Kang Ha's number.
"Kang Ha!" the girl yelled loud enough for him to look around and try to spot her, and as soon as he did, a wide grin made his way up to his lips.
"Thanks, I'll see you later," Kang Ha waved to the three girls who seemingly wanted to help him get accustomed to the school.
"Hi, Bitna," Kang Ha briefly hugged the girl before looking into her eyes again, "I never thought I'd see you on the first day."
"Well, here I am," Bitna smiled back before beckoning for him to follow her, "Why are you here? I told you not to come."
"What do you mean?" Kang Ha asked, confused by her question.
"What are you doing at Jooshin High?" Bitna asked.
"I got a scholarship offer, so I took it," Kang Ha replied, "I wanted to experience everything my brother did."
"Don't lie to me, you know I can read you like an open book," the girl said when they came into the hallway which was only for the elites.
"Fine," the boy sighed in defeat, "I'm here to find out what happened."
"And what will happen once you find out?" Bitna asked, "What would you do if I was involved in it?"
"I know you weren't involved," there it was, his deadly cold stare. Bitna would be lying if she said she didn't find his stare intimidating, and a little attractive, at that.
"I'm telling you this because I genuinely care about you," Bitna sighed, "Leave while you can."
"I won't do that," Ha replied.
"Ha, I'm being serious. I can't keep you safe in here," Bitna told him, "I couldn't keep him safe, and I can't keep you safe, either."
"I don't need you to keep me safe, Bitna," Ha smiled at her, "And don't worry, I can handle myself."
"If you need anything, come straight to me," Bitna whispered, "Don't go to anyone else, and don't trust anyone."
"You're very scary when you whisper in my ear, you know," Ha chuckled.
"You meant attractive, not scary." Bitna corrected him.
"Did I now?" Ha winked before leaving. The girl already had his number saved, so she just texted him an address. When he messaged her asking what it was, she told him to just come over that night and see for himself.
This is going to be a long school year. Bitna sighed at the thought. But hell, he'll make it all the more interesting.
