"Tyler!" I screamed from the bathroom. The puddle at my feet was gross. But it meant our baby was on his way.

"What?" Tyler asked, rushing into the bathroom where my pyjama bottoms were wet, and my feet were in a puddle.

"Looks like Tommy's ready to meet you," I smiled.

"Oh! Wait, what? Now?"

"No, I'll ask him to wait a few more days, if that's more convenient for you," I said through a contraction.

"Okay," Tyler said, distractedly.

"Tyler!" I said.

"No! I didn't mean that! I meant 'Okay, hang on, let me call my mom to watch the girls', " he said.

I peeled off my wet pants and dropped them in the puddle on the floor. They were already wet and that needed to be cleaned up anyway. I went into the shower to rinse myself off and let the warm water flow over my body, relaxing me just enough before another contraction took hold. Tommy was definitely ready to make his debut.

I got out of the shower, Tyler was getting the hospital bag ready and Junie and Rosie were sitting on our bed watching.

"Mama?" Junie said, as I came out of the bathroom. "Is baby?"

"I think so, Miss Junie," I said. "I think your brother is ready to come meet you!"

Junie smiled and clapped her hands. Rosie cheered.

"Tommy's coming today?" Rosie asked.

"It sure looks that way, RosieRo," I said, pulling on sweat pants and a t-shirt for the drive to the hospital.

I heard the front door open and close, indicating that Tyler's parents had arrived and we could head to the hospital.

"Sam comes home tomorrow!" I cried as Tyler helped me into the car.

"I know. Can we deal with this first? Once you and Tommy are taken care of, I can focus on getting Sam," Tyler said, more calmly than I felt. Which I shouldn't be so harried. This is our third.

"Good luck, Jenna," Tyler's mom said, as she picked Junie up to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Call us when he's here.

We smiled and Tyler rushed me out the door.

We drove completely calmly to the hospital while I definitely didn't scream at all. Just like with Junie and Rosie.

We got to the hospital in what felt like record time, and got up to the maternity ward.

After what felt like a thousand pushes (but was probably far less. Like probably only 900), Tommy Stryker Joseph was born wailing and screaming. Healthy set of lungs on that boy.

I smiled with relief as he was placed, wrapped in a blanket with a little knit cap on his head, into my arms. I marvelled at this tiny creature I had just birthed after nine months of caring for him inside my body. Now this third tiny piece of my heart was outside of my body. And he was perfect.

Tyler and I marvelled at our son as the staff got me cleaned up, cleaned things up and eventually, once everything was clean and put away, they left us for a little while to give us time to bond with our baby boy.

He fell asleep pretty soon, and Tyler and I just marvelled at his tiny features.

Tyler got up and started making some phone calls to let everyone know Tommy was here.

"Are you going to call Sam?" I asked.

"It's the middle of the night," Tyler said. "And she's coming home tomorrow. I'll take the girls to the airport to pick her up and we'll surprise her with a pit-stop."
