Chapter 24

Landing was just as nerve wracking as taking off for Iris. She could fly on a broom and do all kinds of tricks but flying in a plane scared her. The quartet grabbed their luggage and left the plane to look for the car Nik had arranged. 

Iris spotted him first. Leaning against a black SUV was Nik. 'Merlin he's gorgeous' she thought. Picking up her pace, she went to greet him.

Nik smiled as she came rushing up to him, "Hello Luv" he leant down to kiss her. "I figured I could show you the house myself" he explained and kissed her again. Noticing her companions finally catching up he greeted them. "Gentlemen. Caroline, how are you feeling"

"I'm doing good thank you" Care replied.

They loaded up into the SUV, Iris was up front with Nik then Fred, Care and George in the back. Iris looked over at him once they all settled, "Thank you for this"

"Anytime Luv. I'm just glad I' able to see you again" he tells her, grabbing her hand a kissing her knuckles. He didn't bring attention to her blush but he did smirk.

Pulling up to the house, the twins let out a whistle at the sight. Caroline is of course the one who says what they all are thinking, "Are you loaded"

Iris spins around giving her a 'Shut up or I'll kill you' look before looking back at the house. Thinking again that Care was right.

Nik laughs at their reactions, "It's old family money that I've invested" Iris nods at this.

Nik gives them a tour and then shows them the bedrooms. He follows Iris into the room she had picked for her stay, setting her bag down and walking over to take her in his arms. "Is this alright Luv" he asks.

Iris smiles up at him, clasping her hands behind his head and playing with the hair there. Niks hands go to her waist. "Thank you for all of this Nik" she tells him, leaning up to kiss him. Sharing a few more kisses before parting, Iris walks back towards the bed to sit. 

"I thought you said your uncles were coming with" Nik asks.

"They will hopefully be here tomorrow. They needed to attend the mayors funeral. Things have been really crazy back home" Iris tells him.

"Well I can't wait to meet them. I can honestly say I have never had to meet the parents before" Nik tells her, sitting on the bed as well.

Iris looks at him confused, "You've never met a girls parents"

"I haven't really had time to date, yes I have gone on dates but none that go to the point of meeting parents. They tend to fizzle out before that" Nik says.

Iris understands that, she's never brought anyone home before so it's new to her as well. Getting distracted by the man sitting next to her, she leans in to kiss him. Nik maneuvers them to where Iris is now halfway under him, things are starting to get heavier when they're interrupted by a cough at the door. 'Damn, forgot to close that'

Both sit up to see Fred standing there, "Um, we were getting hungry and wanted to see if you two were" looking at Iris he smirks at her expression, "Sorry little sister" he calls out and walks off.

Iris groans and throws herself back onto the bed, "Sorry about him" she mumbles.

Nik laughs and stands, pulling her up off the bed to stand, "It's fine Luv, let's go eat"

After an amazing dinner that Nik and Iris cooked, he has to leave and the rest decided to go to bed. They wanted to get an early start tomorrow to help Caroline learn her new abilities.

The next day they spent a lot of time exploring the house and surrounding land. Care had been practicing some of her new vampire skills and the twins were watching her sprint across the yard as fast as she could. Iris had decided to check out the pool and hot tub. She had just leant over to check the temperature of the pool when she felt a body hit hers and they both went crashing into the water. 

Coming up she was sputtering out water, Iris looked at who had dunked her, "Siri you're such an ass" she said and splashed water at him. Turns out the pool was heated. Good thing too. She swam over to the side where Remy had leant down to give her a hand out of the pool and leaving Siri to fend for himself. "When did you guys get here" Iris asked, trying to find her wand so she could dry herself. 

Remus took his out and dried her off, "About ten minutes ago, you were just coming up from the yard"

Care comes running over, she gives Remus a hug and looks to Sirius. Of course he was doing backstrokes in the pool, fully clothed. "I'm glad you guys made it. How was the funeral" she asks.

Sirius swims over and climbs out, Remus dries him off too. "Drama. Carol is mad that her husband was killed and trying to make your mom find who's responsible" he tells them. 

Remus adds in, "We figured out why the mayor was affected by the Gilbert device. His brother, Mason, came to pay his respects and when we were introduced he shook my hand and Moony perked up" Care looks confused until the twins explained that werewolves could sense other werewolves. 

Iris looked at Remus, "So was the mayor one" she asks.

"Not quite. The werewolves here have to activate a curse they're born with. They mayor never did and Tyler hasn't yet but Mason has. We stopped to ask Sheila about them when we were done" Remus tells them.

"So if the mayor was affected by the device then that explains Tyler, he kept asking what the noise was. That's what caused the wreck" Care tells them. They all agree with her and Remus tells them they need to keep an eye on him in case he does trigger the curse.

Everyone walks into the kitchen to make lunch when there's a knock on the door. "That's Nik" Iris looks between Remus and Sirius, "Please be nice to him" she begs.

Iris goes to answer the door, Nik is standing there looking gorgeous as ever. She jumps into his arms to kiss him, leaning in she whispers "My uncles are here, they're in the kitchen waiting"

Nik smiles, putting Iris back on her feet. "Time to face the firing squad" he jokes, walking with Iris.

 Remus had walked up to shake his hand, being the more sensible of the two men, he didn't even fully grasp Niks hand when all hell breaks loose. Iris had been standing next to Nik when Remus lets out a growl, snatching Iris away from him and pushing her towards Sirius who catches her. Everyone is frozen in place because of the amber color of Remus eyes. No one wanted to move or set him off. Sirius pushes Iris towards the twins and walks over to Remus. "Moony, calm down. Pup is not in danger and I'm sure Nik has an explanation for sending off werewolf vibes"
