•We firstly follow Senzangakhona is portrayed as a deeply troubled man. Despite engaging in superficial pursuits like drinking and casual sex, his thoughts constantly return to his wife, indicating unresolved grief and guilt. His inability to find satisfaction in these pursuits highlights his emotional numbness and disconnection from the world around him. The chapter effectively conveys his internal struggle through his interactions and inner monologue.
• Then enters another character Funani, who is an old friend to Senzangakhona, he confronts Senzangakhona about his self-destructive behavior and urges him to reclaim his former greatness.
•Meanwhile, Ayanda Displayed courage in expressing her feelings for Nelisiwe, only to face unexpected rejection leading to tragic consequences. Her character arc is marked by vulnerability and the pursuit of honesty in her emotions.
