Siya gasped.
Unable to tear her gaze away from those haunting eyes that were the reason for her nightmares.
His eyes.
Dark mismatched eyes.
They looked at her with so much hate, anger and animosity. They gleamed with a dangerous glint, penetrating through her soul as if he would claim her, in life and death.
She stood frozen in place, feet numb, body cold and soul shivering in terror. A piercing scream of pain broke the haunting silence, and she looked at the source of it. Her screams echoed, horrified and traumatised.
On the floor lay the body of Xavier.
He looked broken, in agony, and almost dead. He looked like he was dying, slowly and painfully. As if he had been brought to the brink of death but pulled away before it could reach him. His breaths were laboured, each inhale and exhale was a battle against the agony that had consumed him. It was as if the simple act of breathing itself was torture, unbearable and tormenting. A blood curling scream left his lips and his features contorted in a grimace of unbearable torment, brutal and cruel. Thick fingers dug into his flesh, sinking deep into his skin with a sickening squelch. A crimson of blood stained his skin and dripped down his body. The metallic scent of blood filled the air, mingling with the fear and agony that oozed out of him, turning the air around him with a thick sense of dread.
"No one, I repeat no one gets to lay eyes on her, let alone get close to her. " Abhimanyu's voice was low, laced with danger. "She's mine, body and soul, and anyone who dares to come between us meets with the same faith-" His fingers digging into Xavier's flesh with merciless intent evoking haunting screams from him. "Death."
A cry escaped Siya's lips.
She struggled, she fought, she screamed.
She tried to save him, to save the man who she had grown to like but she couldn't. She felt as if her hands were tied with an invisible chain, halting her. No matter how hard she fought, and how loud she screamed, all her efforts were futile.
Abhimanyu raised his head, and looked at her, cold and emotionless eyes staring at her, warning her of the danger. His powerful presence dominated the place, excluding an aura of danger till the point that she felt suffocated as if she was being choked to death.
He looked like a monster. No. He is a monster.
And then, his lips curled upward, dark and deadly.
"I am coming for you, little dove."
Siya woke up with fright, her body slick in sweat. She looked around, breathing heavily as she surveyed the familiar walls of her room. Drawing her knees to her chest, she wrapped her arms around herself, seeking refuge from the horrors of her nightmare.
