Have you ever witnessed death in physical existence?
When you know, standing in front of you is death himself, you do what any man with a shred of sanity would do. You submit. You surrender. You beg. But one thing you never ever do is fight. Because the harder you fight death, the more excruciating it becomes.
Enzo was one of those sane men, and he knew this. So, he submitted, just like all the others. Yet it spared him nothing-no mercy. Because Abhimanyu Singh Rajput wasn't a man to mess with. You could walk into the mouth of death and still breathe, survive, and live your life. But you could never cross this man and make it out alive. With him, there was no life. He was the epitome of death, made of flesh and blood in human form, just far worse, far crueller.
All eyes were locked on the scene, breaths held tight, legs frozen, as if the very air had turned to ice. Fear rippled through the crowd, a cold dread that sunk deep into their bones, paralysing them from inside. This was no ordinary confrontation. It was something far more dangerous, far more terrifying.
"What did you say?" Abhimanyu seethed, slamming Enzo against the nearest wall. Enzo groaned, his body wracked with pain, his head shaking desperately. "I-I didn't mean to-" He choked on his own words, hoping for someone to save him. But no one moved. No one dared interfere.
"You dared to speak low of my woman." Abhimanyu growled and yanked Enzo by his neck, forcing the man to look up at him with pure terror.
"I-I..." Enzo stammered. "I didn't m-mean any disrespect to your woman, Mr. Rajput. I was just talking about Xavier's wom-" His words were cut off as Abhimanyu's grip tightened around his throat, forcing his head up to meet the icy gaze of death itself.
"Siya is mine," Abhimanyu growled, his claim sinking deep into the very souls of everyone who heard it. Gasps erupted from the crowd at the open declaration, shock coursing through them. "Her every breath, her every thought, her very existence belongs to me." Enzo's face drained of colour as he listened, terror creeping into his eyes. In that moment, he knew he sealed his fate. "You don't think about my woman, let alone dare to disrespect her." Enzo's scream tore through the air as Abhimanyu's grip crushed his throat, his desperate cries turning to hoarse gasps. Terror consumed him as he thrashed helplessly, fingers clawing at Abhimanyu's hand desperately to set himself free, and hot tears escaping his eyes. It felt as though his throat was being ripped from the inside, the pain so severe it blurred his vision. His eyes rolled back, veins in his neck bulging, tightening as if they would explode at any moment.
A hand settled on Abhimanyu's shoulder, a firm squeeze that pulled him back from the brink. "Rajput, release him," Giovanni said, his voice carrying an unmistakable authority. Abhimanyu's grip on Enzo's throat didn't loosen. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, his gaze locking onto Giovanni's with a dangerous edge, the muscles in his arms still tense with violence.
