Daniel sits in his room as he plays video games,
his friend jake walks in the room, as daniel turns his head to him slightly frowning,

"how did you.. nevermind"
Daniel mumbles, not bothering to ask how his friend came into his house suddenly,
he returns his attention to the game,

while his friend goes and sits on the bed,

"hey"
he calls,

as daniel takes one side of his headphones off,
his full focus on the game as he moves the joystick professionally,

"what?"
daniel asks,

his friend rests his palms behind him against the bed as he slightly leans back,

"wanna go to a party?"
jake asks,

daniel frowns,
"party? all of a sudden?"

jake nods,
"yeah, one of my friends says it's a party for their friends' one year anniversary since they started dating"

daniel sighs,
"no thanks, as you can see i'm busy, plus i don't even know these people, so why should i go?"

jake groans,

"bro, you've been stuck at home for a month, is that all because abby is now dating?"
jake points it out,

daniel flinches,

"..what are you saying? i already moved on"
daniel answers him, annoyance in his face,

"okay then come to the party"
jake pauses, then smirks slyly,
"if not then i'll believe otherwise of what you said"

daniel pauses the game and sideways turns with the chair with wheels he's sitting on to look at jake,
he rest his left elbow on the desk,
as he looks at jake baffled,

"bro"
is all that daniel says,

jake gets up and shrugs,

"well, if you don't want me to think so, then come to the party"
he walks to the door,
"wear something nice"

he walks out the door and closes it after him,
leaving daniel looking towards the door speechless,
he sighs as he rubs his face with his hands,

"ugh, that's so bothersome..".

daniel and jake are already there at the party, it's crowded and loud, but no body other than daniel seem bothered by it,

they all sit at a table as they drink different liquors,

"so, daniel"
some of his friends says as he puts down his cup,
daniel looks to him,
"when are you going to get a girlfriend? you've been single since forever"

"pfft, bro he's been single since college"
some other friend adds,

they laugh as if it's a funny matter,
as daniel looks away silently while jake groans,

"shut up guys"
jake says, defending daniel,

"no but for real, i'm really curious on why you're single until now, do you have unrequited crush on someone or something? just date whoever comes your way, that girl probably isn't that hot, is she?"
some stupid guy says,

daniel flinches, then he turns his head and glares at him,
the guy's smile slowly fades,

"then should i just date you? since you seem like you have a crush on me or something, why are you so interested in my love life?"
daniel says sarcastically,
"don't talk about things you don't know about"
