"Can you please let it go?" Ruby asked Charlie when she stepped next to him on the pavement after Harry dropped them off in front of their school.

"No." Charlie stated, his gaze wandering over the campus searching for Lucas in the crowd.

"Char, please!" Ruby pleaded.

"You know what? Okay." Charlie sighed and held his hands up. "But only if you promise me to tell me if he pulls another shit and if he does I will end that fucker."

"Fine." Ruby groaned. "Thank you." She added more gently.

"The only person who's allowed to make you cry is me." Charlie shrugged, not even fazed when Ruby elbowed him in the ribs. "Alright, gotta go. I don't want to be seen with you. Bye, dwarf."

"Bye, shithead." Ruby waved at him, but got distracted quickly when one of her best friends approached her.

"Ruby, hey! Oh my god I'm so sorry! How are you feeling?" Emilia blabbered away immediately.

"I'm okay, I guess." Ruby shrugged. "Charlie was close to jump on him, but he's not worth it."

"He's certainly not. You deserve so much better, babe! And anyway, he's not even that pretty." Emilia said, waving around her manicured hand in the air while linking her arm with Ruby's and pulling her along while half of the campus was gawking after them.

It was usual that they got stared at, partly because they were popular, but mostly because Emilia loved a big appearance, her outfits attracted attention just as her always perfectly made platinum blonde waves that rounded her pretty face perfectly, her make up just enough to make her deep green eyes and plump lips stand out.
Ruby had never been one to overdo it at school, but since they were friends she noticed she started to dress and act like her- a normal reaction to having an older best friend. Emilia was Charlie's age, but since Ruby got older and popular since people knew whose sister she was- and Charlie had a lot of friends- her and Emilia started talking at a birthday party and became friends quickly.

"Yeah..." Ruby murmured and scratched her arm abstinently.

"Hey." Emilia stopped and smiled at her sympathetically. "How about I come over after school and we'll make a beauty day, hm? Get your mind off that asshole for a bit."

"Sounds good." Ruby shrugged, but she was actually looking forward to distract herself a bit.

Her family did a good job troughout the weekend, but it wasn't the same, especially when Harry always looked at her with that sad smile and Louis suggested a few different scenarios on how to get back at him which was nice and some ideas made her laugh, but she noticed the caution they treated her with and always being reminded of it didn't make it better.

Ruby made it through half of the day without any incidences until lunch when she got held back before she could step into the cafeteria.

"Ruby, wait. Please!" Lucas pleaded, but Ruby pushed him away harshly.

"Leave me alone!" She hissed and spun around to escape, not wanting him to see the hurt look on her face now that she saw him for the first time since he stood her up.

"Please, let me explain!" Lucas followed her.

"There's nothing to explain." Ruby muttered.

"Yes, there is. Please. Give me just one minute." Lucas begged.

Ruby contemplated what to do, looking around to see some people looking into their direction curious on what was going on, some others didn't care and passed them just wanting to eat. She slowly turned around with cold eyes and a stone mask on her face.
